Chapter 50: Chapter 50:Orientation [4]
With every passing second, the timer on the stage updated with real time, already changing to "[00:01:00]"
Looking forward, I estimated that there were around twenty students here, and surprisingly, all of them had chosen to sit in the back few rows.
What was the point in getting here early if they were going to choose the worst seats?
None of the students sitting down had white hair either...she had probably taken the mana train, which was much slower than a carriage.
Shaking my head, I strolled past them and took in the beautiful scenery around me before stopping at the third row nearest the stage.
The chair’s cushions and backrests were colored a crimson-red, contrasting with the cold and hard silver metal that made up the chair.
In front of me, the empty stage had a pair of red curtains stretching from side to side, concealing most of the stage area.
Walking into my empty row of chairs, I chose a seat near the middle and sat down, enjoying the lack of a horrid smell.
While the sea smell was strong, the scent of over four hundred students would, no doubt, overpower it, so I had to enjoy this while it lasted.
Pausing for a moment, I glanced forward and examined my system menu.

My current priority had to be mastering my time freezing ability and increasing my overall stat total.
While I could use my book knowledge to gather a variety of overpowered skills and items immediately, it would be the equivalent of giving a baby a rocket launcher.
Of course, this didn’t mean I wasn’t going to take items, but I had to be careful about it.
Only after mastering what I currently had would I move on.
*STEP*
At that moment, I suddenly jumped back in my chair, almost falling backward into the next row of seats, as a sudden sound echoed from beside me.
With the sea preventing me from smelling humans, I was now prone to being surprised and sneak attacks.
Glancing to my right, I spotted a male student with pitch-black eyes and matching onyx black eyes, slowly entering my row of chairs.
Out of all the empty rows in front and behind me, he had chosen mine?
His image didn’t trigger any memories for me, so he was probably just a random background character.
The ideal person to befriend!
Someone not involved with the plot line of the book at all.
Sitting and occasionally glancing at his figure, I waited to see if he would approach me.
I wasn’t desperate or socially adept enough to jump out of my seat to meet him.
Also, if my identity was ever found out, all my credibility would go down the drain.
Imagine word got around that the famed and evil demon king was leaping out of his seat and sprinting over to some random person to say "hi."
Although it didn’t matter, I still considered everything from the perspective that my identity as the demon king would be found out soon.
No secret, no matter how small, could be kept forever.
Perhaps, noticing my gaze, the male student paused for a moment and suddenly sat down a couple of seats away from me.
Giving up, I looked back at the stage, passing the time by simply examining the plaza and watching the time count down.
The entire area was dead silent with no student willing take the leap and talk to the person beside them, and no teachers or adult figures were in sight. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

As the time read, "[00:00:30]", the deafening silence within the plaza was finally broken as the sounds of students chattering and talking to each other could be heard.
Yet, no other student had dared to join me and the other student in the first few rows of seats closest to the stage.
Regretting my decision as the sounds of students speaking comfortably echoed behind me, I finally turned to my right.
And, at that very moment, my eyes suddenly made contact with the other student’s.
Had he been looking at me this entire time!?
Pretending as if I hadn’t noticed anything, I shifted my gaze toward the stage, but kept my eyes locked onto his figure.
Sure enough, he was staring right at me, his head tilted and all!
Turning my head in the opposite direction of the student to purposely hide my face from his view, I closed my eyes and touched the ring on my right hand.
Were my horns visible or something!?
Why the hell was he silently staring at me?
Feeling the ring still on my finger and slowly absorbing my mana, I reopened my eyes...before immediately falling back in my chair a second time.
Mere inches from my face was Daisy, who was staring at me with a questioning expression, as if she wanted to ask me anything.
Where the hell had she come from!?
Grabbing the back of my chair, Daisy immediately stabilized my seat, preventing me from falling, and reached her hand into her pocket.
"Your eye is creepy. Take this."
It was?
Confusedly, I raised my hand to my face and touched my right eye, feeling absolutely nothing.
My vision was fine without being distorted or blurred in the slightest, so I had completely forgotten about my now revealed right eye.
As if reading my expression, Daisy immediately pointed at the student behind me, who was still staring at me, and said.
"It is."
Revealing her palm, Daisy showed me the exact same bandage that I had ripped off in my fight with the djinns earlier.
How had she had the time to get it?
Reluctantly taking the dirty bandage from my hand, I paused for a moment.
If my vision was fine, why the hell was I putting on the bandage?
Why would I purposely restrict my sight!?
Just as I opened my mouth, another set of words echoed from right in front of me.
"I saved your life; just put it on."
Fuming and pissed off, I watched as Daisy walked away and entered one of the blocked off shops within the plaza, disappearing from my sight.
The teachers and staff members were feasting in world-class restaurants while I had to sit here awkwardly!?
Covering my bloody and pitch-black eye with the bandage, I sighed and turned away, finally having a reason to talk to the student beside me.
"Hey dumbass, you really couldn’t tell me that something was wrong with my eye?"
