Chapter 59: Chapter 59:Introductions [3]

In the middle of the empty training hall were countless sparring areas alongside dummies for solo training.

Walking off the stone area where the sparring weapons were located, I stepped onto the soft battleground where a large circle was located.

As Raven also stepped inside the large circle, I said.

"First one to surrender or step out of the circle loses. Fair?"

Hearing my words, Raven nodded his head before adjusting his karambits so that their tips were facing the ceiling.

Without any hesitation, I ripped the bandage off my right eye, and thankfully, my sight wasn’t distorted in the slightest.

Looking at me, Raven shook his head before muttering.

"I’ll never get used to that.

Embedding the tip of my sword in the soft ground, which resembled sand, behind me, I leaned backward and casually asked.

"So, what are you going to do if your gift isn’t dagger-related?"

"I’ll make it work."

Charging at me at an extraordinary speed, Raven instantly reached me and swung his right karambit vertically upward from his knee to my chin.

With his light daggers, compared to my heavy broadsword, Raven could easily attack and dodge before I could even swing my sword.

Thus, I had to stop him from dodging.

Simultaneously, I immediately removed my sword from the ground and swept it horizontally at his feet, attempting to knock him off balance.

Unfortunately, Raven was prepared as he immediately extended his left arm and placed his left karambit in front of my sword’s trajectory.

As Raven’s right karambit went past my stomach and was about to collide with my chin, I suddenly kicked my right foot forward at his stomach.

Then, in sync, my left and free arm surged upward and across my face, easily reaching it before the karambit.

Upon hitting the bottom of my left arm, his dagger bounced backward before halting in place, sending a course of pain through my arm.

With both of Raven’s hands occupied, hitting me and blocking my sword, my kick immediately made contact with his stomach, sending him flying back.

Catching himself before falling, Raven immediately created some distance between us before I could retaliate further.

Smiling, I looked at Raven, who was angrily staring down at his right wooden dagger.

His right dagger’s swing had started from his legs and moved upward toward my face, giving me plenty of time to dodge and protect.

At that moment, my eyes suddenly forcibly closed before reopening a second later.

Thankfully, Raven had not moved during that time...but something else had.

There was now a holographic figure on the battlefield.

As I stepped backward and almost fell out of the circle, my eyes widened, and Raven gazed at me, confused.

"Tired already?"

Ignoring Raven’s remark, I simply rubbed my eyes, ensuring I wasn’t seeing things, and inadvertently opened my mouth.

If I wasn’t seeing things...my body, with horns, was right beside Raven.

More specifically, the devil that possessed my body was now standing right next to Raven, assuming the exact stance.

The holographic figure looked exactly like me, but had two visible red horns and a smile on its face.

Its right horn...wasn’t broken either.

Holding two curved karambits in its hand, the holographic figure perfectly mimicked Raven, even shrinking to the same height as him.

Then, as Raven charged forward, the holographic figure of me also moved forward, copying his every movement.

This time, the figure wasn’t copying me...but my enemy?

Also running forward, I kept my sword at my right side, ready for a horizontal slash.

However, as we met, Raven suddenly jumped to my left, as far away from my sword as he could, and threw his right hand at me, as if he were punching someone.

With no way to parry to attack, I side-stepped to the right; yet, at that moment, the holographic figure beside Raven smiled.

Then, before Raven even moved, the devil version of me suddenly wrapped his holographic left arm around me.

Not even a moment later, Raven did the same, and as I side-stepped to the right, I bumped into Raven’s arm.

My body was now in between both his arms...completely trapped.

His left arm was wrapped around my right arm as well, preventing my sword from moving.

First, Raven’s right dagger hit me, sending me stumbling to the left and into his left arm again, preventing me from escaping the trap.

Then, imitating me, Raven kicked his right leg forward, straight at my stomach.

However, I was prepared.

Because a second before, the holographic figure had done the same thing.

I had wondered...why the lines hadn’t shown up.

Usually, no matter how inaccurate they were, the holographic lines from my Tempo stat would show up after a minute.

It seemed that my tempo...had combined with my devil’s eye.

My right eye was extremely observant, capturing every detail of Raven’s battle style and predicting his next move.

Using the information from my right eye, Tempo created a holographic figure that would mimic and predict Raven.

However, it came with a cost.

A crimson-red droplet of blood suddenly fell from my right eye, and the blood vessels there expanded, making my pupil an even darker red.

My previously perfect vision also became distorted as everything from the right side became blurry and hard to see.

Ignoring the searing pain in my right eye, I ducked prematurely, watching his leg fly above me.

My right hand was still restricted by his Raven’s left arm, so I used the moment to free myself.

Retrieving his leg and retreating, Raven stared, seemingly not yet noticing the blood, at my now free right arm.

"Not so cocky anymore, are you?"

With every fleeting second, the right side of my vision blurred further, so I wasted no time and charged forward.

As the holographic figure and Raven simultaneously jumped to the left, predicting a horizontal slash from me, I raised my wooden broad sword over my head.

Then, in a swift motion, I brought the sword down, instantly feeling it connect with Raven’s left shoulder.

Buckling under the pressure of my sword, Raven nearly fell to his knees, but before that could happen, he raised both his daggers and pushed my sword away.
