Ultimate Spin System: Ero Spin?-Chapter 75 - Warm Stick
Maya sighed softly, looking down at her empty plate. Lucas couldn’t tell if it was disappointment or something else entirely, but her reaction made his chest tighten. His father, on the other hand, let out a hearty laugh, clapping a hand on Lucas’s shoulder.
"Well, I suppose I can’t stop you from being the responsible," his father said. "But how are you planning to get to the station? It’s such an early train."
Before Lucas could respond, Maya chimed in, her voice softer than usual. "I can take him."
Lucas blinked, surprised by her offer. His father raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. "You? Driving Lucas to the station at the crack of dawn? Are you sure, Maya? I thought you weren’t much of a morning person."
Maya offered a small smile, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "It’s no trouble. Besides, you just got back from the hospital. You should rest."
Lucas’s father frowned slightly, but he didn’t argue. "That’s true. The doctor did say I shouldn’t push myself too hard. Alright, Maya, if you’re sure, I’ll leave it to you."
The conversation moved on, but Lucas couldn’t shake the unease settling in his stomach. Maya’s sudden willingness to drive him didn’t feel entirely genuine. It was as if she had something she needed to say—something she couldn’t say in front of his father.
As breakfast ended, Lucas excused himself and retreated to his room, shutting the door behind him. He leaned against it, taking a deep breath. The system’s earlier reminders and Maya’s unexpected offer swirled in his mind, leaving him restless.
----
At night, Lucas lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling. The events of the past few weeks played in his mind like a twisted film reel. His life had taken a turn he never could have anticipated. The Dominion Grimoire, the forbidden acts with his stepmother Maya, and the recent involvement with a wealthy MILF—all of it weighed heavily on him. Yet, as much as he tried to rationalize his actions, the system’s earlier question echoed in his mind.
[ What did you gain, Host?]
[ Personal gain. ]
[ Even if you justified it as respecting your father, you still slept with his wife. ]
The words were like a knife twisting in his chest. Lucas clenched his fists, trying to silence the nagging voice, but the system’s presence was unrelenting. It was always there, pointing out his flaws, his hypocrisy, and the moral lines he’d crossed.
---
The night passed in a haze of sleeplessness, and before Lucas knew it, his alarm blared, signaling the ungodly hour of 4:30 a.m. He dragged himself out of bed, throwing on a hoodie and jeans before grabbing his bag.
When he made his way downstairs, he found Maya waiting for him by the door. She was dressed in a simple cardigan and jeans, her hair tied back in a loose ponytail. Despite the early hour, she looked unusually composed.
"Ready?" she asked, her voice quiet.
Lucas nodded, slinging his bag over his shoulder. "Yeah. Thanks for doing this."
The car ride began in silence, the early morning chill seeping through the windows despite the heater humming softly. Maya’s hands rested casually on the wheel, her gaze fixed on the road ahead, though there was a faint smile playing on her lips. Lucas sat beside her, his bag tucked by his feet, stealing occasional glances her way.
"Thanks for this," Lucas said, breaking the quiet. "Didn’t think you’d volunteer to be my chauffeur at this hour."
Maya smirked, glancing at him briefly. "What, surprised I’m capable of being nice?"
"Not surprised," Lucas teased, leaning back in his seat. "Just suspicious. What’s your angle?" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Maybe I just like torturing you by making you endure my company," she shot back, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Lucas chuckled, shaking his head. "Classic Maya. Always a step ahead."
The mood lightened, the tension from the previous night fading as they settled into their familiar banter. Maya, however, seemed determined to keep him on his toes. She glanced at him from the corner of her eye, her voice turning playful.
"So, Lucas," she began, feigning an air of innocence, "what’s your plan for the rest of the day? Gonna miss me already?"
Lucas smirked, meeting her gaze. "Miss you? I think you’ve got that backwards."
"Oh, really?" she challenged, her tone dripping with amusement. "And here I thought I was doing you a favor."
"Well, since you’re being so generous," Lucas said, leaning slightly toward her, his voice dropping to a teasing murmur, "how about I return the favor?"
Maya raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? And what exactly do you have in mind?"
Lucas grinned, his expression wicked. "How about a warm stick of ice cream on this cold morning?"
The car swerved slightly as Maya choked on a laugh, her composure momentarily cracking. "What did you just say?"
"You heard me," Lucas replied, his grin widening. "Warm ice cream. You know, it’s a delicacy."
Maya pulled the car over to the side of the quiet road, her lips curling into a sly smirk. She turned off the engine and twisted in her seat to face Lucas.
The morning air was crisp, the faint mist clinging to the windows of the car as the heater hummed softly. Outside, the world was still asleep, bathed in the dim glow of dawn, but inside the car, the atmosphere was anything but tranquil.
"Alright," she began, crossing her arms and leaning back against the door. "Time to pay up, Lucas. Hand over the warm stick of ice cream you promised."
Lucas chuckled, his lips curling into an amused smile. "You’re really not letting this go, huh?"
"Not a chance," Maya replied, her eyes glinting with mischief. "You dangled that idea in front of me, and now you’re going to deliver. Or are you all talk?"
Lucas leaned slightly closer, his grin widening as he met her gaze. "Well, I did warn you it might be a bit... veinly. You sure you’re ready for it, now?"
Maya licked her lips, her tongue darting out playfully as she tilted her head. "Sounds like my favorite!"
"Alright, Lucas," she began, her tone dripping with mock authority. "Stop talking. Show me the warm stick of ice cream you keep teasing me with?"
Lucas chuckled, leaning casually against the door, his lips curling into a mischievous grin. "Well, it seems, Mommy loves ice cream."
Maya raised an eyebrow, caught off guard for just a second before a sly smile spread across her face. "Eummhhh... More like Mommy loves your cream, don’t you think?"
