Ultimate Spin System: Ero Spin?-Chapter 76 - Make Her Yours
The atmosphere in the car grew quiet again as Lucas leaned back, letting the playful banter settle. Suddenly, a faint chime echoed in his mind, sharp and distinct, accompanied by the glowing interface of his system—visible and audible only to him.
[Alert!]
"Your train will depart in 20 minutes. Current travel time to the station: 15 minutes. Failure to board the train will result in significant delays."
Lucas blinked, shaking his head slightly. The timing couldn’t have been worse.
"Lucas?" Maya glanced at him, noticing his momentary distraction. "You good?"
Lucas quickly forced a grin to mask the system’s interruption. "Yeah, just realized we should probably pick up the pace. My train’s leaving soon."
Maya nodded, putting the car back into drive. "Relax, we’ve got time. Don’t stress."
He hesitated, then, with a smirk, added, "Mom, my stick will never leave you, come on have some self control ."
Maya’s laughter rang out, light and carefree, breaking the tension. She gave him a side glance, her smirk playful. "You and that mouth, Lucas. Good thing you’ve grown up with some self-control. Otherwise, I’d say you’re asking for trouble."
Her words lingered for a second longer than he expected as she leaned over at a red light and gave him a soft kiss on the cheek. Her lips were warm, a stark contrast to the chill creeping in from outside.
"See? That’s how you keep yourself in check," she teased as she straightened back in her seat, her grin mischievous
Lucas smiled back, trying to ignore the lingering warmth of her kiss and the slight flutter it caused. "Guess I’m lucky you’re here to keep me in line."
She laughed again, turning her attention back to the road. "You’d be lost without me."
As they drove through the quiet streets toward the station, the faint mist outside began to fade, giving way to the soft, golden light of the sunrise. Lucas let himself relax for the first time that morning, the system’s reminder now a distant thought as Maya’s teasing and warmth filled the silence between them.
For now, everything felt... manageable.
The car rolled to a smooth stop outside the station, the faint hum of the engine cutting off as Maya turned off the ignition. The soft orange glow of dawn painted the station in warm hues, casting long shadows over the platform where a few early travelers milled about.
Lucas grabbed his bag and was about to open the door when Maya’s hand shot out, gently grasping his arm. He paused, turning to her with a curious look. "What, Mom?"
Maya hesitated for a moment, her lips pressed into a thin line as if she were carefully choosing her words. Then, she let out a soft sigh, her expression softening as her eyes met his.
"Lucas," she began, her voice quieter than usual. "Before you go... I need to ask you something."
Lucas tilted his head slightly, confused by the sudden shift in her tone. "What is it?"
She took a deep breath, her fingers unconsciously tightening on his arm. "Do you... love Lena?"
Her question caught him off guard, and for a moment, Lucas was stunned into silence. "What?" he finally managed, his brow furrowing. "Where’s this coming from?"
Maya smiled faintly, though there was a glint of something deeper in her eyes—something Lucas couldn’t quite place. "Just answer me. Do you love her?"
Lucas leaned back slightly, still unsure how to respond. "I mean... she’s my stepsister, Lena’s great. She’s smart, kind, and—"
Maya cut him off with a gentle squeeze of his arm, her smile widening just a fraction. "That’s not what I’m asking, Lucas. Do you love her? Like, really love her? Enough to make her yours?"
Lucas stared at her, his mind racing. "I... I don’t know," he admitted, his voice low. "Why are you even asking me this?"
Maya leaned closer, her gaze steady and unwavering. "Because if you do love her, Lucas, you shouldn’t hesitate. You need to claim what’s yours."
He blinked, completely taken aback by her words. "Claim what’s mine? Maya, this isn’t—"
"Listen to me," she interrupted, her tone firm but not unkind. "If you love her, then don’t waste time second-guessing yourself. Lena deserves someone who’s all in, and if that’s you, you need to show her. Make her yours."
Lucas opened his mouth to respond, but Maya wasn’t finished. Her voice softened, and she leaned in slightly, her eyes searching his. "Make her yours, Lucas. Don’t let fear or hesitation hold you back. If you truly love her, you need to be the one standing by her side. No one else."
He blinked, still processing her words. "Mom, why are you saying all this? It feels like you’re trying to push me toward her."
Maya smiled faintly, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "Because I want you to be happy. And Lena... she makes you happy, doesn’t she?"
Lucas hesitated, then gave a small nod. "Yeah, she does."
"Then don’t hold back." Her smile widened, but her voice dropped to a teasing murmur. "And who knows? Maybe someday, the three of us can have some... good family time together."
Lucas froze, his brain screeching to a halt. "What... what do you mean by that?"
Maya chuckled, leaning back in her seat as she released his arm. "Exactly what I said. Family time. You, me, and Lena. Doesn’t that sound nice?"
He stared at her, his mind racing. Her tone was light, almost playful, but there was an undertone of seriousness that made his stomach twist in confusion.
"Mom..." he started, his voice faltering as he tried to piece together a coherent response.
She leaned over suddenly and planted a quick kiss on his cheek, her warmth lingering against his skin. "Go," she said softly, her voice carrying a strange mix of affection and authority. "Your train won’t wait forever."
Lucas nodded numbly, grabbing his bag and stepping out of the car. As he turned to shut the door, he caught one last glimpse of her through the open window—her expression calm, but her eyes filled with something he couldn’t quite decipher.
"Take care, Lucas," she said with a small smile. "And remember what I said."
Before he could respond, she started the car, pulling away from the curb and leaving him standing on the platform. The soft hum of the train and the distant chatter of other travelers filled the air, but Lucas hardly noticed. Maya’s words echoed in his mind, their weight growing heavier with each repetition.
As the train’s whistle blew, signaling the final boarding call, Lucas turned and stepped onto the platform, his steps slower than usual. He couldn’t shake the feeling that whatever had just happened was far more significant than it seemed—and that Maya’s words would stay with him for a long time to come.
Lucas hurried into the station, his footsteps echoing in the near-empty terminal. The soft hum of the intercom announced the boarding of his train, and he quickened his pace, his mind still a chaotic whirl from Maya’s parting words.
"If you love her, make her yours."
"Maybe one day, the three of us can have some fun together."
"Family time."
The words replayed in his head, each one adding to his growing confusion. What exactly had she meant by that? Was it just Maya teasing him like she always did, or was there something more serious behind her playful demeanor?
He reached the platform just as the train’s final boarding call echoed through the air. Clutching his bag tightly, Lucas stepped onto the train and found his seat near the window. As the train started to move, he glanced back toward the station entrance, half-expecting to see Maya standing there. But the platform was empty, save for a few other passengers who had missed the train.
As the scenery outside began to blur, Lucas leaned back in his seat, exhaling deeply. The quiet hum of the train was a stark contrast to the storm brewing in his mind. Maya’s words weren’t just idle comments; they carried weight, a strange mix of encouragement and something... else. Something that made his chest tighten with an unfamiliar mix of emotions.
---
By the time the train reached its first stop, Lucas was no closer to figuring out what he felt—or what he should do. He couldn’t ignore what Maya had said about Lena. Did he love her? He hadn’t really thought about it in such stark terms before. Lena was special to him, no doubt about it. But love? The word felt so heavy, so final.
And then there was Maya. Her teasing, her knowing smiles, the way she always seemed to know exactly what to say to push his buttons. She’d always had a way of getting under his skin, but this was different. The way she’d looked at him when she said "Family time"—it wasn’t just a joke. There was something unholy meaning there, something that sent his thoughts spiraling.
Lucas groaned softly, rubbing his temples. "What the hell am I supposed to do with all of this?" he muttered under his breath.
