Venerable Demon King & The Doting Immortal (QT)-Chapter 161: An angel descending from the heavens.
Chapter 161: An angel descending from the heavens.
Xiang Yu slumped into the chair in the small clinic, exhaustion weighing heavily on him. Lian and Mei lay on the hospital beds nearby, their breathing steady and peaceful. They had been refusing to fall asleep, but it didn’t take long before they were lying there in deep sleep due to exhaustion. The room was dimly lit, the soft hum of medical equipment the only sound breaking the silence.
Old Song entered the room quietly, his footsteps barely making a sound on the tiled floor. Seeing the trio asleep, he smiled gently. He fetched a blanket from a nearby cabinet and draped it over Xiang Yu, ensuring he wouldn’t be cold through the night. As he closed the door softly behind him, Xiang Yu’s eyes fluttered open. He had been awake the entire time, his vigilance never wavering. Trust was a luxury he couldn’t afford, even with someone as kind as Old Song. From the story, he was a very good person, but Xiang Yu could never let his guard down in front of strangers.
Satisfied that there was no immediate threat, Xiang Yu allowed himself to drift back into sleep. This time, he fell into a deep, dreamless slumber. Memories of this new world flooded his mind, a torrent of images and sensations. This world was far removed from the one he was from and the one he experienced previously.
It was a world devoid of cultivation, demons, and ghosts. Instead, it was a place with advanced technology and conveniences that seemed almost magical to him. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
In this world, spirituality was scarce and limited to a few religions. The absence of the supernatural was jarring, yet intriguing. Xiang Yu thought it would be a great place to explore. He couldn’t wait to take the twins on an adventure before things got serious. He was a little saddened that he wouldn’t be able to be close to Han Xin in this world, but he looked forward to ruining Peng Xiu all over again, and when he was done, he would enjoy killing her again. This time he would do it slowly and make sure she felt a thousand times the pain he felt.

The story of this world was just like in the previous. It had been meticulously crafted to Peng Xiu’s advantage, every move calculated, every step leading her closer to her ultimate goal, which was to be with Han Xin and rise to the pinnacle of power.
Han Xin, the future heir of the triads, was unlike his father. He envisioned a future where the triads would shed their illicit ways and emerge as a legitimate business empire. His dreams, however, were met with fierce resistance from those who thrived in the underworld. Little did he know that within his inner circle lurked an undercover agent, Peng Xiu herself. Her mission was clear. It was to infiltrate, gather evidence, and bring down the empire from within. She wanted to use evidence against Han Xin to force the Dragon Head’s hand and bring the organisation down.
But as days turned into weeks and weeks into months, Peng Xiu found herself ensnared by Han Xin’s charisma and unwavering determination. His vision of a better future resonated with her, and she began to question her own motives. The lines between duty and desire blurred, and she hesitated, torn between her mission and her growing affection for him.
In the end, Peng Xiu used her access to Han Xin to dismantle the other clans. To the outside world, it appeared as a streak of bad luck, but Han Xin sensed something amiss. His suspicions grew, and just as he was about to confront his inner circle, the wail of sirens shattered the night. Han Xin was apprehended publicly, his arrest a spectacle for all to see.
Behind the scenes, Peng Xiu spread rumours that Han Xin had betrayed the clans, leading to their downfall. The clans believed he was the rat, and if he were to be sentenced, he would surely die in prison. But then, in a twist of fate, Han Xin was suddenly released, his assets frozen and confiscated by the state. His father had disowned him for betraying the family. With nowhere to turn, he spiralled into despair.
It was then that Peng Xiu appeared, like an angel descending from the heavens. She professed her love for him, promising to stand by his side and help him rebuild from the ground up. Together, they started as work partners, their bond deepening with each passing day. Soon, they were a couple, rising to the top of the business world, admired and envied by many.
What did the Demon King of the northern realm think of this story? In his sleep, his lips curled in disdain. To him, it was bullshit, and it left a bitter taste in his mouth. He couldn’t wait to tear Peng Xiu’s face apart and watch her world crumble to dust.

Han Xin leaned back in his luxurious leather chair, the grey suit he wore perfectly tailored to his broad shoulders. The colourful city lights of the bustling metropolis below shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a kaleidoscope of hues across his modern office.
He swirled the amber liquid in his glass, the ice clinking softly, as he tugged at his tie, loosening it slightly. A soft knock echoed through the room, but Han Xin didn’t bother to turn around. He already knew who it was.
Han Zhan strolled in casually, picking up a ripe peach from the fruit bowl on the sleek coffee table. He plopped down on the plush couch, propping his feet up on the table. Han Xin’s voice cut through the silence, cold and commanding. "Take your feet off my furniture."
Han Zhan chuckled, complying as he took a bite of the peach, the juice dripping down his chin. "Do you have eyes at the back of your head?"
Han Xin didn’t reply. Instead, he swivelled his chair around to face Han Zhan, his expression unreadable. "Did you find that old bastard Die?"
Han Zhan’s smirk faded slightly. "He ran to his family home like a little bitch. I can’t drag him out without your father’s permission. Besides, the entire Die clan is armed and guarding the place."
