WorldCrafter - Building My Underground Kingdom-Chapter 106: It’s Playing With Us
Her mind struggled to process what she was witnessing. In all her lives—two before this, three if she counted this one—she had seen many things.
Artifacts that could cut through spells like paper. Relics that could absorb magic entirely, leaving their casters helpless. But this?
A creature consuming magic as if it were a mere delicacy—devouring it, then repurposing it as its own?
This was something she had never seen before.
Elvira's hands tightened into fists.. Mana surged through her veins as circles flared into existence around her, one after another, expanding, shifting, interlocking into a complex, weaving matrix of spells. "Let's see how much you can chew before you choke."
BOOM!
A storm of destruction hurtled through the air Aetheric Lance, Frost Nova, Arcane Implosion—each spell crackling with raw power, streaking toward the Alpha in a barrage of relentless force.
But this time, he didn't eat them. The Alpha moved.
Its claws sliced through Aetheric Lance with effortless precision, splitting the glowing spear in two before it even reached its body. The fragments vanished into nothingness.
Frost Nova exploded against its exoskeleton, shards of enchanted ice scattering like brittle glass. No cracks. No damage. The sheer heat emanating from its form melted the frost before it could even take hold.
Then came Arcane Implosion—a concentrated sphere of compressed magic, a force that could reduce stone to dust.
The Alpha spun.
A claw shot out, swiping through the attack like it was nothing more than an inconvenience. The sphere of condensed energy was flung sideways, crashing into a ruined section of the battlefield.
BOOOOOOM!
The explosion ripped through the ground, sending shockwaves tearing across the field. But the Alpha? Unscathed.
Not a single mark.
The creature tilted its head, six glowing eyes narrowing as if it were studying them. Amusement flickered through its gaze, cold and knowing. "Do you have more?"
Then, it disappeared.
Elvira's eyes widened as her instincts screamed too late. It was right behind her.
BAM!
A clawed fist slammed into her side, sending her hurtling through the air.
CRASH!
She smashed through a chunk of fallen Grimslate, rolling across the scorched battlefield before skidding to a stop. Her ribs screamed in pain, her body shuddering from the sheer force of the blow.
She barely had time to breathe.
BOOM!
The ground where she had landed exploded, a shockwave tearing through the air as the Alpha struck down with monstrous force.
Accel Tempest! Elvira kicked the ground. She reappeared mid-air, one hand already raised as three magic circles expanded beneath her.
"Hallowed Barrage!"
A hundred golden lances materialized, raining down like a divine execution.
The Alpha's six eyes flickered with something close to excitement. Instead of dodging It moved forward.
BAM! It punched one lance out of the air.
SLASH! Its tail whipped another aside.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
It weaved through the chaos, striking, parrying, moving as if it were dancing through death itself.
Elvira grit her teeth, pouring more mana into the barrage, pushing her exhausted body to the limit. 'Damn it! What is this thing!?' Her spells weren't connecting.
With a burst of speed, it shot toward her, its claws aiming straight for her heart.
'SHIT—!'
CLANG!
A pickaxe blocked the strike. Ben appeared between them, a grin on his face, his muscles coiled, his adaptive limbs shifting in real-time. "What? You thought I lose already?" He drove his knee into the Alpha's gut.
The creature grunted, skidding back—but not far. Its feet dug into the ground, and for the first time, its amusement faded.
Ben rolled his shoulders, cracking his neck. "Alright, ugly. Round two."
Ben and Elvira circled it, their movements perfectly in sync, their bodies instinctively adjusting to the monstrous presence before them.
The Alpha studied them. Its six eyes flickered between them. Then It attacked.

A blur of motion. Elvira raised a barrier.
CRACK!
The force of the impact shattered it instantly, the shockwave alone sending her reeling.
Ben dashed forward, his blade appendages slashing out at the Alpha's exposed side.
CLANG!
The Alpha twisted unnaturally, its tail whipping up to deflect his attack while its claws lashed out in the same instant.
Ben ducked. Just barely. A fraction of a second too slow. A razor-sharp claw tore across his shoulder, blood spraying into the air.
"Tch!" Ben kicked off the ground, flipping backward, eyes blazing.
The Alpha was fast. Too fast.
Elvira didn't wait. "Storm Piercer!"
A bolt of condensed lightning exploded forward, twisting like a spear, aimed directly for the Alpha's chest.
The creature reacted instantly. It stepped forward, raising one arm—and then did something impossible.
The moment the lightning touched its skin.
BOOM!
It redirected it.
A wave of electricity ripped through the battlefield, sent flying toward Ben. "Oh, come on!" Ben threw up a shield, bracing for impact.
BZZZZT!
The force slammed into him, sending his body sliding backward, his muscles locking up from the residual energy. His regeneration burned through biomass to counteract the effects, but he could already feel it. 'It's playing with us.'
The Alpha's eyes glowed, amusement flickering through them as it rolled its shoulders, cracking its neck. "Keep going Outsiders, it's been a while since I face someone strong."
Then it attacked again. Ben barely had time to react before the Alpha was already on him.
A blackened claw streaked toward his throat Ben twisted, but—BAM! The impact sent him flying. His vision blurred as he crashed into a ruined wall, his body creating a crater on impact.
"My Beloved!" Elvira gritted her teeth, her hands flying through the air as she traced a massive spell circle, "Fusion Magic-Cataclysm Requiem!"
A whirlwind of fire, ice, and lightning erupted around her, the sheer force of mana warping the very air itself. She directed it forward, hurling an elemental storm straight at the Alpha.
BOOM!
The attack collided, engulfing the battlefield in a blinding explosion—Elvira didn't wait. She rushed forward, channeling all the excess energy into her own body, her movements fueled by pure magical force.
