Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 64: To Destroy The Summoner
Chapter 64: To Destroy The Summoner
Atlas was getting closer to the cats by the second. He sent what little aura he had managed to spread around him back into his body and tried to distort the movement ability he was using to indicate that he was trying not to harm the cats.
Even though the cats were very aggressive, Atlas was able to get close to them.
With that, he pulled out a carving knife from his inventory and then got underneath one of the cats and began to carve the seal that bound the chain.
Even though Shadow Cat was struggling quite seriously, it was not doing it by force. It was as if it was hurting that the seal was starting to deteriorate.
That was exactly why Atlas was trying to act as fast as he could.
The other Shadow Cat waited anxiously where it was. It seemed to be constantly nuzzling its friend and trying to calm him down.
Atlas had succeeded:
"CRING!"
The chain suddenly shattered, and the seal began to heat up in Atlas’s hand.
Atlas instantly equipped his entire right arm with his aura and threw the seal as far as he could.
"BOOOM!!!"
An extremely loud explosion sounded in the distance. On the battlefield, which was filled with such huge chaos, the sound of the explosion could be heard even as screams and shouts were raised.
Atlas, without stopping, put the cat on the ground, then picked up the other cat and repeated the same procedure. He threw the remaining seal in his hand towards the angry side of the battlefield and stood up after the sound of another explosion.
"Go and be free," Atlas said, and without missing a beat, he turned to his soldiers and said, "We’re leaving, hurry up!"
He immediately activated his Night’s Step ability, and then the troop of mage soldiers behind him began to move on their way.
He couldn’t even imagine that the mystical beasts he had rescued would haunt him in the future.
Thanks to a mage with seven magic rings, the empowerment spells in his body had increased to a much higher level, and Atlas’s speed was able to reach the speed of an aura warrior with perhaps four levels.
With each step he took, he was getting closer to where he was trying to go.
After a short time, they had finally made it to the inner part of the centre.
The number of monsters in the surrounding area had decreased greatly, and the devil worshippers, mostly human, were becoming visible.
Atlas quickly pulled the soldiers to the back of a building and then said, "Create a high-level chain blast spell. Your target is the devil worshippers around the large rune you see over there."
At the place Atlas pointed to, there were 6 people standing around a huge circle and kneeling on their knees, acting as if they were praying.
The bodies of each of them were completely covered with clothes, but the blood on their bodies was very clearly visible.
This was the price of having summoned a demon by force.
The only thing Atlas was happy about was that there were only three seventh-grade and seven sixth-grade mages in sight. The devil worshippers were far weaker than he had expected.
This was enough to explain why six people had gone to so much trouble to summon a low-level demon.
"They’re weak. We just have to act fast," Atlas said, and then added, "There’s a barrier around the rune. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to stop the summoning process that easily. There is no need to try to stop those who are summoning other monsters around. We have another mission at the moment."
His soldiers nodded their heads in understanding at his words and tried to prepare a spell without releasing mana as a warning.
It would be very accurate to say that they succeeded.
In just one minute, seven magic ring wizards had managed to create a seriously powerful spell.
The mana compressed into the spell was so great that releasing it would have been like unleashing an apocalyptic omen.
There were perhaps more than six hundred mages with seven magic rings on the entire battlefield, but that did not change the fact that mages of their level were rare.
Even in a duchy that had existed for thousands of years, there were only about a hundred mages with seven magic rings. All the rest of the mages had joined the raid from the surrounding cities and some even from adventurer guilds within those cities themselves.
Add to that the fact that Atlas’ subordinates were from the main mage cadre of the empire itself, and that each of them was under the command of his older sister Eva, and it was enough to explain how ’perfect’ mages they were.
This compressed mana was perhaps enough to destroy a small village in a single blow.
The only question was, was it powerful enough to destroy the barrier around the huge rune?
"We are ready, sir," said one of the mages with six magic rings.
Atlas instantly shook his head and said, "The rest of you, try to protect each other as much as you can. Try to create a mana shield around me if you can. I will go directly after the living."
With his words, the mana mass in the hands of the six mages instantly flew into the air. The mass of mana rising from the building between the group went to the top of the barrier around the rune and shone with a high light.
At that moment, a thin, ear-piercing sound spread around and everyone’s eyes were dazzled as if Hellios himself had landed on the field:
"FSHOW!!!!"
At that moment, the ambient sound stopped for a few seconds, and the light wave began to scatter spells that looked like lightning bolts from a chain.
Almost every pulse of this magic process landed directly on the barrier that the magic ball was on, and as soon as each pulse hit the barrier, it spread around just as planned, hitting and killing the demon worshippers around.
There was only a short time left for Atlas and the others to move; they just had to wait for the final blow of the spell, the explosion of all the chains.
