Chapter 69: Sages Will Take Care Of It (1)
Atlas smiled at this and said, "Thank you, my lady," and smiled gently. When he freed his own hand from Cassandra, he turned to Bhagholir beside him and left nothing behind but the people staring at him.
"You can’t be...this dense..." Lyra said aloud, but was quickly silenced by Cassandra.
"My lord, if it is possible, I would like to welcome all these people to your city for a while. I do not have much gold. My fortune consists of over six hundred thousand gold and close to a million silver, but I have hundreds of formulas of my own creation, and I know I can make money. If possible, I would like you to protect them for a while," Atlas said suddenly.
Bhagholir shook his head after these words and said, "Your request is an order for me. I told you, you can do whatever you want in my city, and I will take your request as an order." He then turned to his family and said, "Then you know what to do."
Atlas stood where he was, unable to stand any longer, and then said, "I’m really having trouble even standing, I need to rest."
Cassandra embraced Atlas as soon as she heard these words and then said, "Then let’s go." As soon as the beautiful woman uttered these words, both Atlas and Cassandra were covered with a layer of blood and disappeared in front of everyone’s eyes.
Atlas closed and opened his eyes only once and managed to see that he was in a completely different place. When he looked around, he saw that everything was covered in solid shades of colour.
When Cassandra put Atlas on the floor, she said, "Welcome," and then pointed around with her hands and said, "This is your room."
"Excuse me, milady?" Atlas couldn’t help but question, even though he didn’t quite understand what was going on. Atlas was suddenly kidnapped by Cassandra, the second most powerful of the Sages.
"I’m taking you under my protection, you will be my husband in the future, we will rule the territory we will establish together," Cassandra said suddenly.
After these words, Atlas shook his head for a few seconds, then looked at Cassandra with a look of incomprehension and said, "I am not looking for a relationship, my lady."
Cassandra said, "There is no rule that your mind won’t change. Now go, take a nice shower, go to sleep. When you wake up, we will go to the palace together." She replied and then opened the door of the room and went out.
She left nothing behind but an Atlas trying to understand what was going on.
Atlas, who was the only one left in the room, looked at the three separate rooms in the room one by one and saw a bathroom. He immediately took off his clothes and after a long cleaning process, he lay down on the huge bed in the room.
The raid had taken place over a period of almost two hours. There had been only about 100 casualties on the friendly side, but many more sex slaves and other types of enslaved persons had died.
Nevertheless, it would be fair to regard it as a victory.
Atlas was sure Bragholir already had the necessary documents. This meant that the empire had the last names to bring down this black criminal network. It was likely that the slave trade centres outside the empire, and even the operations and positions of these networks, were included in the documents.
This was a great hope and at the same time a source of great joy for Atlas.
"Hah..." Atlas let out a long breath, closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep. It didn’t take him long to do so, and after only a minute he was asleep.
Despite all this, the real event was taking place on the other side of the world. In the second most extreme continent of the southern continents, in one of the extremely small cities of a huge kingdom of a huge continent with a warm climate, five people were standing in the air right above the city building.
The energy radiating around was unbelievably enormous. It didn’t take long to realise who these people were.
Talon, Constantine, Cain, Bellatrix and Juliet had come to this small city on the orders of their master and mentor Cordelia.
The mayor of the city was extraordinarily afraid to even leave his home and chose to remain hidden.
Many aura warriors and sorcerers stood in the city, gathered to protect the city.
This small city was the ninth city the Sages had come to destroy since the middle of the month. On Cordelia’s orders, every city with a majority of devil worshippers would be destroyed. Nothing would go unanswered.
Cordelia had already been angered by those who were trying to hunt down her student Atlas, and so she had given these orders to the other Sages immediately after she commissioned Cassandra about Atlas.
In a nutshell, the Sages travelled the southern continents one by one and killed any demon worshippers they found within kingdoms or empires.
If there were many devil worshippers in small or large cities, as there are now, the entire city would be destroyed.
It was quite dark, not understandable, but Sages were not normal people. In order of power, from Cordelia to Constantine, none of them even knew their age. Only the ages of Cain, Bellatrix and Juliet were more or less known to others. Enough of them was near by Cordelia since thousands of years.
There was no morality, ethics or anything like that left in these people. Even if they had, this morality and ethics would have disappeared with Cordelia’s orders; that was a certainty. Nevertheless, there was one thing that was true. Of course, they didn’t have any morals or anything resembling ethics, but Cordelia had clearly finished the order with "Don’t do anything to make Atlas unhappy."
Which forced them to do something even more challenging.
