Billionaire's Unforgettable Ex-Wife-Chapter 910 - 570: Borrowing My Money Comes at a Price
The second time I saw Rosalind was two days later.
He took his assistant to the police station to investigate the materials, and it happened that Rosalind was interrogating his client.
For the sake of the case, he stood at the door and listened for a while.
She was as sharp as ever, getting straight to the point when interrogating suspects, and her analysis was incisive.
He crossed his arms with a smile, of course, she was as charming as ever too.
In the interrogation room, Rosalind put the materials in her hand down again: "Delilah Weston, I advise you to confess voluntarily, covering up crimes for someone else doesn’t necessarily mean you’re helping him.
He’s still killing, and as long as that man isn’t caught, there will continue to be more victims.
I think you wouldn’t want to see more blood on his hands, right?"
Delilah’s expression was resolute: "I’ve said it, I killed those women, without exception, I won’t go back on my words."
Delilah insisted she was the murderer, completely unmoved, and in Owen Lennon’s view, Rosalind had indeed said everything a police officer should say.
Owen Lennon turned his head and whispered something to the officer beside him, who nodded and went into the interrogation room to whisper something to Rosalind.
Rosalind smiled and looked at Delilah: "Since you won’t say anything, then suit yourself. That man has turned himself in, your little drama with him is quite interesting."
After she finished speaking, she got up to leave. Delilah hurriedly said, "Impossible, he wouldn’t turn himself in, you’re lying to me."
"Does it amuse you if I lie? I don’t have time to waste with you because I have to interrogate the real criminal."
Before Rosalind even reached the door, Delilah suddenly broke down crying and tried to escape, but fortunately, the two officers behind her restrained her in time.
She cried, "Shane, why are you doing this, why are you walking into a trap, I told you, I’d do anything for you, why did you still come."
Finally, the case had a breakthrough, and Rosalind, using a method of provocation, got the desired answers.
When she came out of the interrogation room, she saw Owen Lennon standing there with his arms crossed. She calmly nodded at him and then started talking with the police beside her about the case.
No one here knew about their past, so she was avoiding suspicion.
After she left, Owen Lennon went in and talked with Delilah for twenty minutes. When he came out, he happened to bump into Rosalind about to have a meal.
After greeting everyone, Owen Lennon was about to leave first, but when he reached the police station courtyard, Rosalind actually followed him out.
She looked at Owen Lennon and called out, "Lawyer Lennon, how about having lunch together?"
Owen Lennon turned back to look at her and said calmly, "Officer Yung is so busy, I suppose you don’t have time for a meal, better not disturb your case work."
"Owen Lennon, have you always been this petty?"
Owen Lennon snorted coldly, "Indeed, even smaller than a needle’s eye."
Rosalind laughed, "Then forget it, take care."
She stepped back to make way for him to get to his car easily.
After Owen Lennon walked a couple of steps, he said to his assistant, "You take a taxi back. I just remembered I have some business with Officer Yung."
"Alright, boss."
After the assistant left, Owen Lennon looked at Rosalind, who couldn’t help but smile, "Lawyer Lennon, come on in if you have something to discuss."
"I prefer to talk while eating, get in the car," Owen Lennon directly opened the door and got into the passenger seat.
Rosalind approached, "You want me to drive?"
"Or do you want me to drive? Aren’t you afraid I’d take the opportunity for revenge?"
"I am a police officer, you know."
"It’s okay, I know, because I’m a lawyer, even if I take the opportunity to get back at you, no one can topple me."
Rosalind turned her head, smiling rare for her.
Owen Lennon noticed that this time Rosalind smiled more than before.
After getting in the car, she took the keys from Owen Lennon and started the car, heading towards the exit: "Where shall we eat?"
"You decide, after all, you’re the host."
Rosalind drove to the noodle shop closest to the police station.
Owen Lennon frowned, "You’re taking me to eat noodles?"
"What’s wrong with noodles, whole grains are the most beneficial to a person’s health."
As she said this, she turned off the engine and got out of the car, Owen Lennon got out of the car with his arms crossed, "I haven’t been to such a cheap place for years."
"Eat or don’t, whatever, I’m hungry."
Rosalind walked into the noodle shop, while Owen Lennon stayed in the car, refusing to go in.
Rosalind went in to order two bowls of noodles, then came out to knock on the car window, "You didn’t use to be this picky."
"Back then, for love, I could change myself, but now without love, I have no reason to continue compromising."
Rosalind pouted, nodded, and smiled, "You make a good point, so what now? I’ve already ordered the noodles, and I have to get back to the team soon, I don’t have much time."
Owen Lennon gave her an indifferent glance, "Then go in and eat, I’ll be on my way."
Rosalind rested her hand on his car window, "Didn’t you have something to talk with me about?"
"I just so happened to forget, if it were another place, I might remember."
Rosalind was speechless, went inside to apologize to the shop owner, then returned to the car.
This time, however, it wasn’t her driving, but him.
After driving for more than ten minutes, she started regretting it. This Owen Lennon, clearly was messing with her, even going to the countryside just for a meal.
They arrived at a beautifully set Chinese restaurant courtyard, Owen Lennon stepped in and was warmly escorted by the server into a private room.
Rosalind glanced around and couldn’t help but say, "You’re really putting in the effort to milk me for a meal."
"Milk? It’s just a home-cooked meal, won’t cost you thousands." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
He was deliberately trying to provoke her. In the past, whenever he took her to eat, if it cost more than three hundred, she would lament endlessly.
To accommodate her, he gave up his lifestyle habits.
But now he realized how unnecessary those accommodations were.
Rosalind frowned slightly, thinking about the thousands, her monthly salary, this man was indeed...
After ordering, the server left, and Rosalind, unabashed, said, "I didn’t bring that much money. Either you treat me to this meal today, or you lend me some money."
Without saying a word, Owen Lennon took out a bank card from his wallet and tossed it to her.
"You’re no longer my girlfriend, so I have no reason or obligation to treat you to a meal.
I’m someone who cherishes women who are good to me and won’t abase myself for those who aren’t.
I’ll lend you the money today, but borrowing from me does come with a price."
