Coldsnap: The Billionaire Alpha's Fated Pregnant Princess (GL)-Chapter 176 - An Omega’s Outlook
Chapter 176: Chapter 176 - An Omega’s Outlook
He led me through the store to a section displaying various shelving systems. Heavy-duty steel units, adjustable height configurations, some with specialized hooks and accessories that seemed meant for genuine warehouse situations.
In many ways, most of it was ’overkill’ for me... but I still checked them out as he showed them off. Eventually this Davie leaned against one of the tall steel frames while patting it.
"These are our most popular commercial units for general use. Modular design that can be reconfigured. What kind of items are you storing? That might help me help you."
"Mixed inventory. Some heavy crates, some delicate items."
"Then you’ll need good organization options. Probably storage containers that match the depth you’re looking for. Lets see what we have."
He showed me several bins, lidded and locking or open for sorting, while explaining weight capacities. I found myself gravitating toward the most expensive units - not out of vanity, but because they were clearly built to last.
If I was preparing for the apocalypse, I wanted shelving and accessories that wouldn’t collapse under stress. Eventually I narrowed it down to five premium units. freewēbnoveℓ.com
A larger one for the wall furthest from the door with a three foot depth and six foot span. Four that could be placed on the sides, two foot deep and five foot across. Which ideally would allow me to leave an open center area of about...
> Thank this world for calculators, Vrika. <
With a little over nineteen feet interior length, the shelves would take up thirteen of it. Six feet of space in the center would allow me to place a ’queen size’ bed according to my rapid online shopping.
My mother would have found that terminology galling - and is the primary reason I’m going with it over a ’full’ size. Perhaps. We’ll see what the options with frames are, as I saw some nice ones that had storage drawers underneath... and I’m not sure how much space that might take up.
"Add these dividers with the storage bins we discussed."
Davie calculated the total on the store sales computer and his eyebrows almost jumped to his hairline.
"That’s... quite an order. You sure you don’t need to run it with anyone?"
"Positive. When can you deliver?"
"Tomorrow afternoon work? I can drive the truck myself, make sure everything gets set up right."
I started to think about it and agree - but a chime rang out. He flinched and looked at his phone before looking up at me with a squint, back at his device then smiled awkwardly.
"...I mean I can get it there in two hours. Sound good?"
Positive that Claire just texted him something, but not sure what... I debate asking him. But he sort of confesses anyway because of the look on my face.
"Look, an hour and a half packing the truck and driving there with a thirty minute unload and signing window is already me ’making haste’. Can you call off your attack human before she gets me in trouble with my girlfriend?"
> Well, that answers that. He chose to call her a human to my face, which means he recognizes I’m a werewolf. Or he was just told. What do you say I should do? <
My wolf had been bored as we took care of this business, but raised its head in my mindscape when I started thinking of Claire. I guess the spirit has gotten a little attached because I have. Though it’s not the entity to look for for ideas.
Unless the idea is about doing something affectionate to-
"If the Alpha’s assistant has a leash, I assure you that I do not have a handle on it."
"Fair enough. I’m not even sure Kyrie controls her, honestly. More... point and wait for results."
He sighed as he wrote up everything to finalize the order. My own phone vibrated and I checked it discreetly, trying not to seem like I was in a hurry.
BK: [He wasn’t where he told her he was four nights ago. And not for pack business. Probably not what you might think - he started as a Gig Assistant, helping set up events for local groups to make extra money for a :weddingring:]
"Haven’t seen you around before. You new to working with Lunarizon?"
"Recent hire."
My lying tongue activated immediately while I was distracted with putting away my phone. Because I was still wondering how she knew so immediately... that he was giving me a later delivery than she wanted for me.
"They’re good people to work for. My cousin Luca handles all their security - says the company takes care of their own."
"I can see the family resemblance."
"Oh, you’ve met him? Well, of course you probably have. There are only so many... spirited folks, who actually work there. Lot of my kind, though. Since we have more patience for grunt thinking work."
I nodded noncommittally. It was interesting seeing a take on pack dynamics from an Omega’s perspective. He was casual and comfortable about it. Without any of the intensity that makes you immediately feel like you are ’in their territory’.
"Anyway, he speaks highly of Ms. Voss. Says she’s fair, protective of her people while also being perfectly willing to hire outside the pack. Lot different from the old Alpha."
> Stop. Don’t ask about her. You’re doing fine without thinking about her. <
With my original face buried into Vrika’s neck, I try and forcefully draw on | Guardian’s Composure |. I’m not sure it actually had an effect, but I’m able to redirect the conversation appropriately.
"The delivery address you have on the order form looks correct. Drop it at the warehouse side entrance, not the main building front."
"Got it. Need any installation help, or you handling that yourself?"
"I can... we can manage."
Insinuating that there is more than myself involved in this ’project’ suddenly felt important. Not because I didn’t trust this Davie or think he may be up to anything nefarious, but just to cover my bases so he doesn’t mention his suspicion to anyone.
Though Claire is probably going to threaten him to be quiet again anyway. What a lovely friend to have.
