Chapter 57: She Is Dead

Damian’s POV

My wolf had reduced its scratching and howling so I was able to focus on the report in Front of me.

The door opened. But I didn’t bother looking up cause I already know who it was going to be.

"How are you back so soon, Felix," I asked but I didn’t get any response.

Felix normally reply to me immediately without even letting me wait a second.

Then there was a scent so familiar that I stopped paying attention to the report.

It was the scent of chocolate and only one person smelt like that.

I immediately snapped my head up and I saw her. It was Heaven.

She was standing by the corner just beside the door, holding a tray of food that made my mouth watery. I looked from the tray to her face.

But why was she her? When she should be in her room hating me.

Instead, she had coke all the way here with food.

And, who even let her in? Of course it had to be Felix. He disobeyed me when I specifically not to let anyone in.

She came forward. She walked to my desk. Then she placed the tray down in front of me.

She looked at the food. Then she looked at me.

But I pushed the tray back to her.

I didn’t want to eat anything. I didn’t deserve to eat. Especially not the food Heaven brought to me. I was punishing myself.

I had hurt her. And here she was. Being nice to me.

"I don’t deserve this food," I said.

I pushed the tray back to her again. But she pushed it back to me.

I looked up at her face. She had a pleading look in her eyes. Her face said "please eat." I looked at the plate. Then I looked at her face again.

I took a bite of the meat. She smiled down at me.

Then she turned around. She was about to leave.

"Heaven, wait," I said.

She turned back to face me.

I wanted to apologize. I wanted to say sorry for everything I had done to her. I wanted to apologize for how I had hurt her. But I couldn’t. The words couldn’t just come out my mouth.

"It’s nothing," I said.

Heaven nodded. Then she turned her back again.

"I’m sorry, Heaven," I said.

The words came out. I don’t know what came over me. I don’t even know when I began to speak.

I was still looking down at my food. "I don’t know what came over me."

Then I heard a thud. It sounded like something had hit the floor.

I looked up. Heaven had disappeared.

Then I looked down. And I saw her. Heaven was lying flat on the floor.

"Heaven!" I shouted.

I jumped up from my chair. I rushed around my desk. I knelt down beside her.

She wasn’t moving.

"Heaven, can you hear me?" I asked.

My hands shook as I reached for her. I touched her shoulder. She was still warm. But she wasn’t responding.

My heart pounded in my chest. What Was happening?

"Guards! Open the fucking door," I yelled and the door was immediately opened.

I grabbed a Heaven in a bridal style and carried her along the hallway. Still praying to the Moon Goddess that she would be perfectly Fine.

I ran as fast as I could still holding her in my arms. I looked at her face and it was getting late and her lips was turning blueish

I got to my room and I pushed the door opened.

My brothers were there. The minute they saw me with Heaven in my arms, they all jumbled to their feet and ran rushed my side.

"What happened to her?" Damon asked.

They came to my side. I placed her on the bed.

"Call the healer," I said to my brothers.

We were all panicking.

"Are you deaf? Call the healer!" Desmond yelled to the guards outside.

A maid came in. She was shaking.

"She’s not in, Alphas," the maid said.

"What do you mean she’s not in?" Damon asked. He looked totally furious .

"Mrs. Higgins isn’t here. She went with some maids to the Hill market. For the preparation of your birthdays." The maid said.

"Why is she in charge of that?" Damon asked.

"Miss Sofia put her in charge," the maid said.

The maids and guards started shaking out of fear.

It was really typical of Sofia to make an healer responsible for preparing a birthday pay.

"Damn it, Sofia," Dylan said.

"So what are you just standing there staring at me for?" Damon yelled at the guards.

"Send some maids to the Hill market right now. Have Mrs. Higgins come here immediately."

Everyone rushed out of the room. They ran to follow orders.

Now it was just us. The four of us. The quadruplets. All standing around Heaven’s unconscious body.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck. This is bad," Desmond said pacing around.

"What happened, Damian?" Dylan asked.

"She was in my study. Then the next thing I saw, she was on the floor." I said.

"Maybe we should call another healer," Desmond said.

"No. I only trust Mrs. Higgins," I said.

In less than ten minutes, Mrs. Higgins came running in. She had her medical wooden box.

"Thank goddess you’re here," Damon said.

"What happened?" she asked.

"I don’t know. She was just bringing me food in my study and the next thing she was on the floor," I said.

My brothers looked at me. They looked at me. like they had a lot of questions for me.

Mrs. Higgins checked her pulse. Then she looked up at us and frowned.

"What is it?" Dylan asked. He moved closer to her.

"There is no pulse," Mrs. Higgins said.

No,no, no. This couldn’t be happening. I stared at Heaven’s still body on my bed.

No pulse means that I killed her. I killed my own mate. Heaven is dead all because of me.
