I Got Reincarnated as a Zombie Girl-Chapter 141 – Walls of Flesh and the Silence That Lurks
Chapter 141: Chapter 141 – Walls of Flesh and the Silence That Lurks
Smoke and light continued to color the gray sky, casting silhouettes over a battlefield devoid of humanity. The blackened earth was cracked and scorched, soaked in blood that had long turned black. Lifeless bodies piled up like the harvest of a cursed season. Screams both human and zombie echoed like a war’s lament, void of mercy.
Sylvia’s army held their ground. But the pressure was far from over.
From the east came a loud sound, like a stone gong crashing through the air. The ground trembled but not like ordinary marching. It was heavier. Slower. More massive.
Zark, who had just destroyed two enemy zombie mages with a surge of dark magic, quickly turned toward the sound. His eyes narrowed, and he shouted through magical voice amplification.
"Right flank! Prepare Break-Lance formation! Something big is coming!"
The eastern troops reacted instantly. Spearmen and spellcasters reinforced the front line, forming a net-shaped defense layered with magic threads. It was a specialized formation meant to hinder giant monsters and they knew this wasn’t just any creature.
From within the dense purple fog, it appeared.
A grotesque abomination, three stories tall, its body a fusion of dozens of zombies melded together, forming a wall of flesh and bone. Countless faces were trapped on its surface, screaming in silence. Arms protruded at odd angles from its sides and back, as if trying to crawl out but forever imprisoned. In its chest, a large bluish-purple heart pulsed slowly, emanating a choking aura of death.
Above, Sylvia sat calmly on her zombie dragon, veiled in a shroud of darkness. Her expression twisted with disgust as she beheld the monstrosity.
"Disgusting," she muttered coldly. "Impure. A parody of life."
The creature opened its gaping mouth but no sound came out. Instead, a wave of deadly vibrations blasted across the field, slamming into the minds of her troops. Several zombie mages coughed up black blood, others staggered violently as if their bodies were about to implode from within.
From the rear ranks, a dark elf zombie woman stepped forward. Cloaked in deep violet, she carried an obsidian longbow glowing with magic. Once subdued by Sylvia in the Tower of Echoes, she now led the undead elf and dark elf unit.
Without waiting for orders, she raised her hand. Hundreds of magic arrows formed in a crescent formation and shot into the air with thunderous force:
SWUSS!! SWUSS!! SWUSSS!!!
Sylvia narrowed her eyes. "So, she’s leading them now? Interesting. Perhaps due to her level... or her race. The aura flowing from her is different. Cleaner. More noble."
She opened the appraisal window but it only displayed: "Zombie Dark Elf (Elite)."
"Hm... maybe a High Dark Elf before death. But why is the data sealed...?"
Meanwhile, the grotesque creature lunged forward its leap quaking the ground and shattering the first defense wall. Magic arrows exploded across its body in purple bursts of poison and light, but it absorbed the damage its wounds sealing shut as living flesh crawled like worms over the gaps.
The frontline nearly collapsed. But the dark elf woman stepped forward and inhaled deeply.
Her bow glowed. She drew a single arrow, different from before dense purple energy wrapped her body as an ancient enchantment circle formed beneath her.
"...Forbidden Sigil," Zark muttered, seeing the rune on the ground. "That’s no ordinary spell."
The dark elf loosed the arrow into the sky.
SWUUUSSS!!
It soared like a meteor, transforming into a bright purple star aimed at the monstrosity. She turned to Zark and gave a small nod. Zark understood immediately and shouted,
"All frontline units, retreat! Large-scale magic incoming!"
The troops swiftly pulled back. Some zombies couldn’t fully withdraw in time, but stood their ground to shield the others. They knew in Sylvia’s army, everyone was both tool and protector.
BOOOOM!!
The sky split open. The arrow detonated above the creature’s body, unleashing a massive purple explosion that bloomed into a glowing mushroom cloud. The earth trembled violently. A wave of heat swept outward. Some troops were thrown back. A few close to the blast were partially burned, but none died.
Silence fell over the battlefield.
Thick smoke rose high, veiling the ground below. Sylvia raised an eyebrow slightly, impressed.
"Hm... she can do that? I should give her a name."
Her dragon growled softly, seemingly annoyed.
Sylvia smirked. "Yes, yes. You’ll get a name too. Don’t worry it’ll be a good one."
The dragon growled again, this time pleased.
Minutes passed. The mushroom cloud began to thin, revealing a large crater in the center of the battlefield. Twenty meters wide and deep enough to swallow a house. The surrounding soil was scorched, glassed over like black obsidian.
Sylvia’s army stood in silence.
Then—
A strange sound echoed from within the crater. Not a roar, not an explosion. But a wounded, guttural growl soft and hoarse.
Zark straightened. "No... don’t tell me..."
The creature stirred. Half its body destroyed yet still alive. Its blue heart now shielded by newly formed bone plating. The flesh monster slowly crawled out, unstable, but still hunting.
Zark clenched his fists. "It’s still alive... but slower. Its body is destabilizing."
He turned to the dark elf archer. "Prepare another shot!"
But she only shook her head weakly. Her hands trembled. Her bow nearly broke from the prior spell’s strain. She had collapsed, clearly past her limit.
Sofia stepped forward. "Leave it to me."
Her spear ignited with holy fire. She readied her throw, but first said, "Fall back. This’ll be hot."
The troops stepped away again. Sofia inhaled deeply this wasn’t a known spell. Just pure instinct. Something new that had just been born.
Her spear flew like a rocket, crashing into the creature.
BOOM!!!
Meanwhile, from afar, atop the Bone Throne’s balcony, the Third Zombie King watched. His expression was blank. But his eyes narrowed slightly.
"Took too long..." he muttered. "My army is stronger than me. But I have something they don’t."
He looked toward Sylvia atop her dragon And smiled faintly. freewёbnoνel-com
