Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 65: Arielle Asking A Vulgar Question
"I’m serious," he said again in a sharp tone.
Arielle blinked her eyes. She cleared her throat to relieve her nervousness. She glanced at the man’s lips and blushed again. Her heart was beating fast, and she shook her head quickly to erase her improper thoughts.
Arielle’s hands, which were previously on Ronan’s shoulders, rose to cover the man’s eyes.
Arielle lowered her face and pressed her lips hesitantly on his. Her body seemed to be electrified by an electric current when the man opened his lips to suck Arielle’s lower lip. Arielle immediately straightened her body. If she didn’t stop at this point, the two probably would never start painting.
"D-done," she said nervously.
"Already?" asked Ronan in disbelief. Because he had not had time to take a sip longer. The kiss just now only lasted a fraction of a second!
Ronan grabbed Arielle’s hands, so she let go of his eyes. Arielle immediately turned around to put up the canvas and easel she needed.
"Y-you said a kiss, didn’t you? You have to keep your promise to smile," said Arielle, trying to neutralize her heartbeat.
Ronan was silent for a while, then laughed, as he enjoyed Arielle’s nervousness and innocence. The man wiped his tears from laughing out loud, then took several deep breaths before finding a comfortable position to sit in a free pose.
The man put his right foot on top of the left. His hands rested on his lap, as they held each other.
"Ready?" asked Arielle, who was holding a pencil.
"Uhm-hm."
Ronan kept his promise to smile faintly. He actually smiled sincerely without any intention of posing because he was amazed to see the seriousness of Arielle, who kept looking at the canvas and him alternately.
Every now and then, when Arielle looked at him, Ronan would wink his eyes, which made the girl’s face turn red. Ronan laughed again.
***
Being a painting model was not something easy. Ronan had to stay in the same position for a long time. This was the longest record for him to be the most patient person in the world.
Occasionally, he massaged the nape of his neck to relieve sleepiness. Even though he had yawned several times, Ronan still forced himself to stay in the same position.
The man had not slept for two days because Ronan had not gotten used to sleeping on the road.
Tomorrow morning Ronan was going to meet Duke Coley to resolve the land dispute with the west, but if Arielle needed a longer time to paint, Ronan would readily sacrifice some of his resting time. He didn’t know how long he could last because slowly his eyes were getting heavy.
Arielle completed the sketch of her painting. She could start adding paint in the morning because it was already very late. The girl turned her face towards the king. Her gaze softened when she saw the man fall asleep in a sitting position.
With very light steps, Arielle took a blanket and then spread it on the king’s body. Arielle tried her best not to make a sound so as not to wake the man.
But the effort was in vain. Ronan was a sensitive person, the slightest movement made Ronan aware of his surroundings. Ronan, who felt a blanket wrapped around his body, opened his eyes slowly.
"Oh, sorry to wake you," said Arielle, a little surprised because when she was watching the man, Ronan opened his eyes again.
"Is the painting finished?" asked the man, in a half-asleep voice.
"Sorry, Your Majesty. I will resume working on it tomorrow."
Ronan smiled slightly, then ruffled the girl’s hair gently. "Tomorrow you’re going to see the people harvesting the frostberries, aren’t you?"
Arielle had almost forgotten her main purpose in coming here. The girl nodded. Ronan looked around and found that the canvas that Arielle was using had been covered by a cloth. Maybe the girl didn’t want Ronan to see her unfinished work.
Ronan didn’t want to force her to show him. It was also very late at night. It was time for Arielle to go back to rest. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"Rest and enjoy tomorrow."
Ronan grabbed his mask and intended to leave Arielle’s room so she could rest properly. The girl followed awkwardly. Before Ronan stepped out of the room, Arielle stretched out her hand to ask the man to stop for a moment.
"Uhm..."
Ronan turned to listen to Arielle’s words. His brows furrowed at the sight of Arielle’s very red face. Ronan smiled gently and waited for Arielle to speak as the girl glanced up. Arielle quickly lowered her gaze feeling embarrassed.
"Yes?"
"Are... you... not spending the night here?"
Ronan almost choked on his own saliva. The man rushed to cover his lips, feeling so damn happy. Arielle widened her eyes when she realized she had asked something very ambiguous. Ronan closed the door to Arielle’s room again with his foot.
"You want me to spend the night here?" asked Ronan in a teasing tone.
Arielle shook her head in panic. "Th- that’s not what I meant, Your Majesty! I.. isshhh!!!"
Arielle opened her bedroom door wide and pushed Ronan, who was laughing loudly, out of her room. The man was laughing at Arielle’s embarrassed face.
He still couldn’t understand what Arielle was trying to do with this bold question. But he quite enjoyed the little entertainment that was served.
"I’ll be back tomorrow night," he whispered into the door, hoping that Arielle would still be by the door so he could hear her. Ronan put his mask back on and left Arielle’s room. With that mask on, no one could see his big smile.
Arielle leaned against the door. She held her chest and heard her heart which was beating at a very fast rhythm. Her face felt so hot. It felt like her ears were ringing. Her body fell, and she buried her face in her knees. Arielle regretted asking in such an improper manner.
For whatever reason, Arielle swore to herself that there was no intention to make her question seem vulgar. Arielle just felt strange because usually the king always asked her to sleep together when it was very late.
Wait a minute! Why... if she thought about what they were doing, it shouldn’t have happened.
A princess who spent the night with a grown man? That sounded wrong. A man and woman without marriage ties should not sleep in the same bed. But what had Arielle done...
Ah, Arielle was too complacent that she didn’t realize that she had violated the ethics of being a princess.
"Okay, maybe I should be more assertive in the future!" Arielle said to herself.
