Netori SSS-Emperor: All Queens Shall Be Mine!-Chapter 47: A Battle That Must Be Won
Chapter 47 - A Battle That Must Be Won
The final battle–a spar between two brothers. One a prince by blood and the other by adoption, nobody had expected the two to engage in a mortal fight before the announcement of the competition. And with Wolf's announcement to wed his adoptive mother, things grew further more tense. William's anger was palpable and the rage in his eyes rivaled an inferno that could melt steel. Even so, the prince did not rush his brother for the commencement of the battle had yet to be made.
Blushing still after Wolf's confession of love, the queen rose her sceptre. Looking around at everyone before bringing her attention to her sons, she took a deep breath to gather strength for the commencement.
'Mother Madia...' Glancing to the idol of angels, she bowed ever so gently. 'Preserve my sons as they go through this potentially mortal test of yours.'
Bridging her attention back to the arena, Astoria raised the sceptre further and announced.
"Let the battle commence!" And to her announcement, the dust in the arena burst into a storm. Leaping towards each other, the brothers wished to end the fight quickly. So much so that instead of watching out or learning about each other's tactics, they threw caution to the wind and used their strongest attacks from the get-go.
"Magi-fusion! Elemental brawler!" In the spectre of a second that it took Wolf to get halfway closer to William, he used his most powerful skills and then added even more on top while raising his fists. "Ifrit Magna! Yukki Blizza!"
Conjuring a total of four extra arms, each pair a different element, he met William halfway to their distance. But his brother, having comparable speed to him thanks to his equipment, William managed to cast a counter against the barbarian's overwhelming power.
"Helmar Umbra!" A puff of dark cloud burst out of the true prince's body, and although the momentum got Wolf to William even in the dark, the true prince had yet another tactic. "Miasmic hands!"
Emerging from beside Wolf were William's hands coming through a dark portal. Noticing them in his peripheral, Wolf tried to dodge but he couldn't do so with his feet off the ground. Getting hit in the ribs, Wolf stumbled a few steps sideways, but to his surprise, not a lick of damage had been done to his body.
"What?!" William yelped, as confused as Wolf.
However, giving the phenomenon a swift thought, the two came to the simple conclusion that Wolf's defense was greater than the entirety of William's strength stat. Had it been greater than his defense or even equal to it, the blow would've landed and the damage would've been done.
"MAGIC IT IS THEN!" Realizing that his physical strikes were no good against Wolf, William decided to rely purely on magic instead. Holding his hand towards his brother, he cast the spell. "FAE GUSTA!"
Manifesting a twister, one that would only hurt his opponent with winds sharp as a razor, the true prince watched as cuts appeared on his brother's flesh and the poison from the dark cloud affected him further.
Realizing that the battle couldn't not be allowed to continue for long, Wolf tried to close the distance between him and William but out of nowhere his feet were grabbed by a pair of hands coming out of his own shadow. Chilled by the grip, he glanced down to find another man using shadow steps and holding him firm in place.
'Robert?!' Recognizing the smile on the shade, he tried to use his elemental arms to slam the hands off his legs, but before he could do that, a volley of sharp elemental bursts was thrown in his direction by William.
Being struck by fire, stabbed by ice and earth, Wolf groaned in pain for a moment. As the spell dissolved in the air, he felt a rush of power shooting through his flesh. His passive had activated, and with adrenaline now coursing through his veins, Wolf pulled his legs off the ground and even managed to pull the bastard hiding in the shadow along with them.
"ROBERT!" Grabbing him by the neck, the prince saw fear in the scoundrel's eyes, however, that didn't stop Wolf from throwing him on top of William.
The crowd had already heard their yelps but with the dark clouds persisting nothing could've been more vague. Even Astoria had no idea what was happening in the arena, and why exactly had Wolf screamed out Robert's name.
'Is that bastard here?! Should I interrupt?!' She wondered, reluctant to interfere just yet.
Turning to the idols, she wondered if they would do anything. Her authority was shadowed by theirs and if they didn't wish to stop the battle for whatever reason, she had no choice but to allow it to continue further.
"YOU CHEATING FUCK!!" Feeling just as frustrated as his adoptive mother, Wolf wasted not another breath before slamming the dark magic users with all six of his fists. And although half of the magic damage from the elemental arms was reflected to him, a stern strike more than thrice William's defense was enough to crater the arena and end the battle right then and there.

Brushed away by the immense strength of a hybrid barbarian, the dark clouds were no more. Leaving but a storm of dust in the arena, and as it settled, the sight revealed ended up drawing gasps from every inch of the arena.
Covered in blood from having both his arms broken from the reflected magic, Wolf stood right by his brother's feet. Looking down at William, he spat on him and his master–a band of cheaters who couldn't achieve anything on their own strength.
"AUGHHH!" Kicking the two some more, Wolf took out his frustration. "I WANTED A FAIR FUCKING FIGHT! AND YOU TOOK THAT AWAY FROM YOU PIECE OF SHIT! I WANTED TO TAKE THE THRONE FAIR AND SQUARE BUT YOU HAD TO MAKE THIS A DAMNED MESS!"
As he continued to kick them, the two rolled in the mud spitting blood and groaning. It wasn't until William raised his hand, did Wolf even attempt to stop.
"I-I for...forfeit!" And with that, their battle came to a disappointing end, but more than anything, it ended in a way that would have the public question Wolf's reign until his death.
