QT: The Rescue Of The Miserable Bigshots-Chapter 331 - 11.4
"What kind of look is that?"
Jiang Jiamian, who had just burned his mouth, nearly burst into tears. His face flushed bright red. After a moment, when the stinging sensation finally subsided, he looked up, only to meet Zhou Mushen’s helpless yet faintly pitying gaze.
His irritation flared instantly.
Zhou Mushen paused, quickly composed himself, and resumed his professional smile. "No, Mr. Jiang. I was just worried you might get burned."
Jiang Jiamian: "..."
If you dare say that one more time, I’ll fire you.
"That’s it? Just scrambled eggs? I’ve been starving for three days! Three whole days!"
He tapped the edge of the plate with his fork in dissatisfaction.
Zhou Mushen’s expression changed instantly. "What? Three days? You mean you haven’t eaten properly for three days because..."
"Hm?"
Jiang Jiamian suddenly looked up at him.
Zhou Mushen’s eyes flickered. He quickly suppressed his anger and said stiffly, "It’s nothing. There’s more in the kitchen. I couldn’t carry it all at once without a tray. Wait here."
Jiang Jiamian waved him off impatiently. "Go, go. This tiny pile isn’t even enough to fill a tooth gap."
"I’ll be right back." Zhou Mushen said, turning away quickly.
Jiang Jiamian watched his hurried retreat. He scooped up another mouthful and put it into his mouth, but for some reason, a strange and inexplicable feeling surfaced in his heart.
"Zhou Mushen... Zhou Mushen..." He murmured softly. "I was wondering why that name sounded so familiar. Turns out... it’s here."
There was no one else in the room. Even so, the system knew he was talking to it. "Where?"
Jiang Jiamian smiled faintly. "Of course, our target this time. The one with the ID Shen Muzhou in the original story. Zhou Mushen, Shen Muzhou... the names sound familiar, don’t they? Just a little switched around."
The system was startled. "They really are the same! No wonder the host thought it sounded familiar. I didn’t even notice until you pointed it out!"
Jiang Jiamian said, lowering his gaze to the egg, which he had already dug a neat hole into. The taste was undeniably excellent. "I just don’t know whether this is a coincidence... or if there’s really some connection between them."
The system thought for a moment. "It’s probably just a coincidence. Zhou Mushen is just someone from a housekeeping company. He doesn’t seem like the kind of person who can casually tip thousands, or tens of thousands, just from reading a novel."
Jiang Jiamian: "..."
This system had been with him for so long... and it’s only getting more hopeless.
Zhou Mushen’s identity as a housekeeping company employee was obviously fake!
Still, Jiang Jiamian didn’t dare jump to conclusions about whether Zhou Mushen was related to Shen Muzhou.
After all, the top-ranked fan was a big spender, a sharp-tongued critic, and a true tycoon.
There was no reason for someone like that to show up at his house in such a bizarre way.
And certainly no reason for him to be working part-time as a housekeeper.
As Zhou Mushen set down a plate of stir-fried cauliflower and another of roasted carrots, Jiang Jiamian shot him a sharp, catlike glare, all sulk and disdain. "All vegetables? I want meat. Wait, don’t move..."
As Zhou Mushen leaned forward to place the plate on the bedside table, Jiang Jiamian suddenly reached out and grabbed his sleeve. He lowered his head slightly, bringing his face closer to Zhou Mushen’s arm.
Zhou Mushen stiffened slightly. Looking down at the head so close to him, he felt his breath catch for a moment. When he spoke, his voice was slightly hoarse. "What’s wrong?"
Jiang Jiamian sniffed his sleeve, then pulled back and declared confidently, "You made stewed fish. Go get it."
Zhou Mushen: "..."
What an absurdly sharp nose.
After a brief pause, Zhou Mushen shook his head calmly. "I didn’t make fish. Just stir-fried cauliflower and carrots."
Jiang Jiamian scoffed. "Impossible. My sense of smell is top-notch. Are you freeloading under the guise of free housekeeping? Planning to charge me later for everything? No wonder you said you’d eat the same food as your employer. Is this what you mean by the same? I’m eating vegetables while you hide in the kitchen eating fish."
Zhou Mushen: "..."
Did he really look like that kind of person?
He simply hadn’t known Jiang Jiamian had gone hungry for three days, that was why he made fish.
But now that he knew, meat would be hard to digest. He needed to start with light meals, small portions, and frequent feedings to restore his strength.
"Go get it!" Jiang Jiamian urged. "Don’t force me to get out of bed."
He planted his hands on his hips, legs dangling from the bedside, looking every bit like an arrogant old man.
"Okay."
Zhou Mushen had no choice but to comply, already thinking about what to prepare next, something nourishing but gentle.
After the meal, once Jiang Jiamian was finally full, Zhou Mushen had also finished tidying the bedroom.
The change was immediate. Jiang Jiamian, who had nearly thrown up when he first woke in this world, now felt refreshed and his mood greatly improved.
The curtains were fully drawn open, the windows cracked wide. Soft sunlight and a gentle spring breeze filled the room.
Turning his head, Jiang Jiamian could see the distant sea and hear the faint sound of waves.
He lay back comfortably, rubbing his slightly rounded stomach.
This was the proper way to enjoy a seaside villa.
The original owner had truly wasted his life.
"Get up and walk around."
Zhou Mushen stood stiffly beside the bed, staring down at him.
Jiang Jiamian raised an eyebrow. "What’s it to you? Have you forgotten who you are?"
Zhou Mushen’s face turned cold. He bent down, grabbed Jiang Jiamian’s wrist, and pulled him out from under the covers. "You were hungry for too long and ate too much. You need to move after eating. You’re not allowed to lie down."
Jiang Jiamian: "..." 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Rebellion!
Pure rebellion!
He was practically dragged out of bed. With a flick of his foot, Zhou Mushen swept his slippers closer. "Go downstairs and walk."
Jiang Jiamian: "..."
Am I the employer, or are you?
"I’m not going."
He stuffed his hands into his pajama pockets stubbornly. "I need to rest. I still have work to do later. You can leave now. Just remember to clean properly."
Zhou Mushen didn’t budge. "If you don’t go, you’ll only get plain porridge for dinner."
Jiang Jiamian: "..."
"You believe me if I replace you?"
Zhou Mushen’s eyebrow twitched. "If you replace me, the free full-service benefit will end. This was a one-time event launched by the company. Replacing me means voluntarily giving up the reward."
Jiang Jiamian: "..."
Heh. Keep making things up.
With storytelling skills like that, why be a housekeeper?
Go be an author instead.
