Chapter 64: If You Meet Alexander Graystone, You Should Run!

"Yes, Sister. I will start my internship next week..."

Aurora scolded herself inwardly. How could she have let her tongue slip and reveal this to Renata? She could no longer avoid the truth and had to be honest with her.

"Seriously, Aurora? What makes you choose to intern there? Why not consider a different company?" Renata asked, her worry clearly flashing in her eyes.

Her voice and expression conveyed her concern and frustration at the thought of Aurora working there, especially under the cold Alexander Graystone.

Aurora took a deep breath. She understood why Renata felt worried and annoyed but needed to pretend she didn’t know the complete story.

"Sis, is there anything I should be concerned about Stardust company? Is it a bad company?" she asked nonchalantly.

"Yes! I can’t go into details, but if you have another choice, I suggest you avoid working for Stardust. If you need some good choices, I can give you some. Just let me know—I have connections at several top companies in this country."

Renata’s voice rose, causing Josh, who had been focused on his food, to look up at her. He wondered why she believed the Stardust Group was a terrible company.

"Can you tell us more about Stadust, Sis?" Aurora asked again, her face reflecting the same curiosity as Josh’s.

"Ugh, how do I explain this?" Renata paused for a moment, searching for the right words.

"Business-wise, Stardust is an excellent company for every aspect of good corporate governance. But, there’s someone you need to avoid there." Renata whispered, but her voice was loud enough for Josh to hear.

Aurora suppressed a laugh, already knowing who Renata was talking about. Still, she asked, "What do you mean, Sister? Who are you referring to?"

Sighing deeply, Renata responded, "Aurora, you need to remember that if you ever meet someone named Alexander Graystone, you should run! Keep your distance as far as possible!"

"Cough! Cough...!" Josh coughed vigorously, nearly choking on Renata’s words. He was too shocked to hear this woman tell Aurora to run if she encountered her husband.

"Josh, are you alright?" Aurora’s gentle voice pulled him from his thoughts.

He nodded quickly while accepting Aurora’s glass of water. He drank it down and emptied it. "I’m fine... thanks."

"Be careful..." Aurora said, then resumed gossiping with Renata about Alex.

While Josh was lost in thought, he stared at Renata. ’Why does this woman harbor such strong hatred towards Boss Alex? Does she know him personally?’ Josh wondered.

He stared closely at Renata, trying to remember if he had seen her while guarding Alex. However, he couldn’t recall encountering this beautiful, stylish woman around his boss.

Suddenly, memories flooded his mind, causing his blood to run cold as he remembered that she had been present on Aurora’s funeral day.

’Holy crap! Why does this woman seem familiar to Rory’s friend?’ he thought in shock.

Aurora’s funeral was very private, attended only by her family and Alex’s closest staff. Yet, this woman had been there, piquing his curiosity. He learned from Alvin that she was a close friend of Aurora’s.

No wonder he didn’t immediately recognize her; at the funeral, she had appeared without makeup and her hair simply tied up, a stark contrast to her current glamorous look, which resembled that of a top A-list movie star.

’How could Lady Boss know this woman?’ he wondered, shifting his gaze to Aurora. He noticed her comfortably continuing her conversation with Renata. Yet, Renata’s next question suddenly shocked him once again.

"Aurora, I forgot to ask—Is this handsome man your boyfriend?" Renata smiled as she looked at Josh.

"Cough! Cough!" Josh coughed heavily again. freeweɓnøvel.com

Renata was taken aback; she frowned, staring at him with concern.

"Seriously, what happened to you, Josh?" Aurora asked, worried to see how flushed his face had become. She offered him a tissue to wipe his glistening tears.

"I’m okay..." he said, hiding his face and avoiding their gaze.

Aurora felt amused, realizing that this man must have been shocked after hearing Renata suggest she should run if she encountered Alex. Just moments ago, Renata seemed to think they were dating.

"There’s no need to rush to eat your steak, Josh. We still have plenty of time..." Aurora continued, teasing him.

Josh nodded in response to Aurora, his mind racing with questions about Renata. ’How could this woman think I’m Aurora’s boyfriend? She would have fainted if she knew Aurora was Alexander Graystone’s wife.’

"You need to go to the hospital. You’ve been coughing constantly," Renata said with concern before turning to Aurora.

Aurora, "...".

Josh, "...".

Before Aurora could respond, Renata continued, "Aurora, your boyfriend looks unwell. Let’s take him to the hospital; he needs medical attention..." Her innocent suggestion caused Josh’s face to turn crimson.

"I’m not sick... alright!" Josh protested, glaring at Renata before returning his gaze to Aurora, hoping for her support. But when he saw her teasing smile, he could only let out a deep sigh.

Renata looked skeptical. She briefly narrowed her eyes at Josh before saying, "Are you sure? Your face looks like someone threw a splash of crimson paint on it..."

Josh silently vented his frustration in his mind. He couldn’t sit at the same table as this beautiful yet foolish woman. If he stayed for too long, he might lose his mind.

"Aurora, I need to get some fresh air. Please call me when you’re done." Josh stood up from his seat without waiting for a response and quickly walked to the door.

Renata was stunned as she watched Josh leave like that, his expression showing apparent distress.

Instantly, Renata felt terrible for upsetting Aurora’s friend and causing him to leave.

She took Aurora’s hand and, filled with regret, said, "I’m sorry, Aurora, for making your boyfriend angry. I didn’t mean to upset him..."

Aurora chuckled lightly at Renata’s words. She gently patted Renata’s hand and replied, "Sister, his name is Josh, and he’s not my boyfriend; he’s just a classmate. He’s still single, too..."

"Seriously? He’s still single!? How can that be? I mean, he is so incredibly handsome." Renata glanced outside and saw Josh standing there with his back to them.

"Can you give me his cell phone number?" Renata grinned, revealing her beautiful teeth.

Aurora, "..."

"Oh, right, Aurora, you also need to give me your cell phone number!"
