Chapter 65: I Am His Seventh Wife

Aurora continued to enjoy her ribeye steak while listening to Renata talk about her restaurant and share updates about her life.

One thing Aurora wanted to know was whether Renata still blamed herself for Aurora Moon’s death.

After a few minutes of talking, she no longer heard any trace of it. She felt relieved that her best friend had moved on without suffering the pain of her sudden death.

The sadness that had been so visible in Renata’s eyes two weeks ago was gone. She also looked stylish and attractive in her usual attire, which always made many women glance in envy.

"Oh right, Sis, where’s Danny?" Aurora asked casually after finishing her entire ribeye steak, feeling like her stomach might burst. She was extremely packed.

"Danny? He’ll be here later. There’s an important meeting at his office. He will be a bit late today," Renata replied with a smile, pleased that Aurora still remembered Danny.

"Aurora, you must stay here until Danny arrives, okay? And I’m not asking; I’m begging." Renata continues.

Seeing Renata’s pleading gaze made Aurora feel guilty about refusing. She also missed Danny and wanted to get closer to him.

A faint smile slowly appeared on Aurora’s lips as she imagined Max’s reaction if he knew she was related to his older brother, Danny.

Moreover, she wasn’t ready to head home. Alex wouldn’t be there for dinner. She needed to enjoy her time here as it was her final exam day, and a celebration was in order.

Aurora felt her heart swell with joy as she celebrated the end of her exams with her two best friends, even though they didn’t recognize her.

She realized she couldn’t keep this secret forever. She planned to speak with Renata and Danny about everything, hoping they would believe her.

However, the question always lingered in her mind was, ’When will she tell them the truth?’ She still couldn’t decide when to do it.

"Sure thing, Sis! I’ll wait for him," Aurora said with a grin, noticing Renata’s smile grow even bigger. "Today is the last day of my final exams, and I came here to celebrate..."

"Wow, seriously?" Renata’s lovely eyes widened a bit, her expression showing both surprise and excitement. Noticing Aurora nodding, she added, "This is definitely a reason to celebrate! I’ll get someone to pick up a cake for you..."

"No! There’s no need to buy a cake, Sis. Wine is enough..." Aurora quickly refused. The thought of cake troubled her, reminding her of what had happened in her previous life.

Aurora would never celebrate her birthday again because whenever that day arrived, she would remember the tragic incident when the fatal accident claimed her life.

As Renata asked the waitress to prepare the wine, Aurora recalled Renata’s annoyance with Alexander Graystone.

Though she could suspect the reason, she still wanted to hear it directly from Renata.

"Sis, earlier you mentioned I should flee at the sight of Stardust’s CEO, Mr. Graystone. Could you explain why?" Aurora asked innocently, stifling her laughter.

Renata’s joyful expression gradually faded as she recalled Alexander Graystone. "Do you remember my friend Rory? I mentioned her the last time we met..." she asked.

Aurora tried to maintain her composure. "Yes, Sis, I remember..." Naturally, she was aware because it was about her.

"Rory was actually Alexander Graystone’s assistant. She was supposed to celebrate her birthday, but she ended up having an accident after handling some work for her boss."

Renata struggled to continue her sentence. Her eyes began to blur as she fought back tears.

"Sis... I’m sorry for reminding you about it." Aurora felt terrible seeing how red Renata’s eyes were now.

"It’s fine..." Renata smiled at Aurora, though her smile didn’t reach her eyes. She took a deep breath and continued, "When I learned you would intern at Stardust Group, I was shocked. I don’t want your fate to mirror Rory’s."

Renata’s eyes twitched in annoyance as she continued, "Please, never get close to Alexander Graystone, even though I know there’s a low possibility that you could meet him..."

"But you need to know that Alex is utterly narcissistic; all he thinks about is money, and his parents are equally evil!" Renata’s hands clenched into tight fists, trying to contain her anger toward Graystone’s family.

Aurora remained silent.

Renata quickly held Aurora’s hand, bringing her head closer and whispering.

"I have something important to share: Alexander Graystone has a reputation as a womanizer and is rumored to have been married six times. You should avoid him; I fear you could become his seventh wife."

Aurora, "..."

Aurora chuckled inwardly upon hearing Renata’s words. Whether this was a punishment or not, she was here to become Alexander Graystone’s seventh wife.

"Sis, I’m sorry, but I’m already his seventh wife..." Aurora wanted to say that, but the words remained stuck on the tip of her tongue. She would be honest with her later, but not now.

"I’ll remember that, Sis. Thanks for reminding me..." That was all Aurora could say at the moment. She didn’t want to spoil the happy moment of meeting her.

They no longer spoke about Alex and discussed other things instead.

...

Shortly after, Danny finally arrived.

"Danny, why did you arrive so early?" Renata waved at him, gesturing for him to join their table.

"I finished early..." Danny replied with a smile. However, he was taken aback when he spotted a girl with gray hair.

"Look, Dan, who’s with us? Aurora! She arrived right on time..."

Aurora waved at Danny, who was sitting opposite them. He looked as handsome as ever, and his charisma as the top lawyer in the country was undeniable.

Earlier, when he entered the restaurant, nearly everyone—especially the women—stared at him in awe, surprised to see him in this place.

"Hello, Big Brother Danny! It’s nice to see you again..." Aurora’s smile caused Danny to freeze.

"Hi..." he greeted her stiffly before he asked the waiter for a drink. He felt his throat go dry. "Aurora, please just call me Danny. There’s no need to add ’Brother’ before my name."

"Pft..." Renata stifled a laugh upon hearing his words.

"Brother, you are ten years my senior. How could I possibly call you just by your name?" Aurora teased him playfully.

Danny, "..."
