Chapter 35: Volume 2. Chapter 35

"Let go of me!" Erin protested, struggling as soon as the cover on her mouth was removed. While her mother was still asleep, her hands were tied on the post.

"This scene is rather familiar." Freyah looked at the kid and then back to Florence.

Florence smiled but it was not reaching his eyes, "Of course, that will be the normal reaction when someone is tied against their will." Amused.

"So what did the kid do?" Freyah asked, making eye contact with Erin.

"She tried to stab me." Florence replied concisely, giving Erin a glance as he crossed arms.

"I see." Freyah simply nodded and walked towards the kid—stopping in front of her and bent down to match Erin’s height, picking up something from her pocket to show the photo that she got from the underground base.

"Is this your family?" Freyah asked seriously which made Erin’s eyes widened. "W-where did you get that!? What did you do to dad and Kuya!?" Erin struggling to her restraint, yelling in panic, her eyes trembling as she stare.

"They are already resting in peace..." Freyah replied, deflecting the question, she straightened up and folded the picture into four then put it inside Erin’s pocket.

"What did you do?! Did you kill them?! Answer me!?" Erin yelling at Freyah, throwing a fit struggling against her restraint—trembling even more at her words. "How dare you?! I’ll kill... Ack..."

Freyah hit the back of her head then swiftly caught her in her arms, removing Erin’s restraint and carrying her.

"Everyone, you can return to your sleep now. I’ll look after this child." Freyah stood up, walking passed them.

"Freyah," Uncle Thomas grabbed her arms, stopping her. "You still didn’t have enough rest. Let me look after them instead. Sleep in my tent." Uncle Thomas spoke encouraging Freyah to take a rest.

Freyah gaze at the worried expression of her Uncle, Then gazes down at the sleeping child in her arms and sighs.

Though she didn’t really need any sleep. But she does not want to cause any unnecessary worry to her family. "Yes, I will." Freyah agreed handing the child to Uncle Thomas.

"The child’s skill, is anything she touches becomes a lethal weapon."

"A daughter who could have weapons anytime and a mother who could create bases. The child’s dad and elder brother already turned into zombies and they were chained inside their house." Freyah explained, freewebnσvel.cѳm

"What? How were they able to chain them without getting bitten?" Uncle Thomas seemed surprised.

"It must be their ability." Florence said, his tone terse, giving Freyah a look. "Then you killed them."

"They are already dead." Freyah said, her voice devoid of emotion. "We will rest now, Uncle. Tie the child up. Even if you’re strong, accidents could still happen." She remind, just being cautious.

"I know." Uncle Thomas nodded, "But thanks for the reminder" .

Freyah proceeded to enter her Uncle Thomas’ room. She simply took a seat on the bamboo tree still in deep thoughts.

"You see something there." Florence entered crossing his arms, he leans against the wall gazing down to Freyah, trying to gauge any reactions.

"There were bones of people there..." Freyah started, still emotionless but surprised Florence a bit then his expression turned serious as he went to seat on the couch.

"Do you mean to say that they feed people to those zombies?" Florence asked, obviously.

Freyah sighs and didn’t speak a word and remained silent for the meantime. She laid down on the bamboo bed and rested her head on the pillow.

"Yes, Actually it’s very common. People who can’t let go of their loved ones and feed it. It’s been a long time since I have seen one and I’m surprised too again."

"That... Erin is just a young child and her mother seemed already old, how were they able to bring people?" Florence looked confused.

"Looks can be deceiving." Freyah answered her eyes fixed to the wooden ceiling. "Especially those who look weak and innocent. If a child and a mother invited you to their house, looking so helpless that you can’t help but let your guard down, correct?" Making a point.

"That is indeed correct, Milady. But there is one thing that I couldn’t get." Florence looked serious as if he was thinking of something.

"Why did the child try to stab me earlier? She must have seen how many people are with us. If she managed to stab me and drag me along in the base, she won’t be able to do so."

"Maybe she could actually do it. That’s why she is confident in stabbing you." Freyah said as she shrugged her shoulders. Then closed her eyes. "Goodnight, your highness."

Florence laid down on the sofa. "Hah." He let out a sigh. "Goodnight, Milady." He said and laid down.

After a few while, Freyah started hearing soft snores. She slowly rose from her bed, then looked at the sofa. She giggled. The sofa was a bit short for Florence.

She stood up and carried him over to the bed. And it seemed when she did, she felt that he woke up and pretented to simply remained asleep.

Freyah gently placed him back to the bed, then she paused... Her gaze was lock at his gorgeous handsome face.

Thick eyelashes, thick brows, strong jawline and skin without an ounce of blemishes even they had gone to many rough situations. Some strands of his platinum hair fell on his face.

"How can the heroine not fall with such face."

"I hope it will be that easy." Golden eyes locked with Freyah’s dark eyes.

"So you finally decided not to pretend to sleep." Freyah grinned then straightened her form. Then she took a seat on the sofa.

"Kathleen not only look at physical appearance, but she also see through the real you and accept you for who you truly are." Florence said. "If everyone will just fall base on appearance... I might have fallen for you... You’re quite the beauty too, Lady Lima."

There was a moment of silence between them as they’re eyes locked at each other. Then a genuine smile crossed Freyah’s lips. "To be praised by a real beauty, it gives a ticklish feeling haha."

"Most would already turned red being praised by me." Florence laughed out loud. "To describe what you are feeling with an expressionless face, you are really something, Milady."

There were another moment of silence between them... But it was not an uncomfortable one.

"Lady Lima, have you fallen in love in the past future like you came from?" Florence asked.

"I don’t know... Really..." Freyah looked away. "Perhaps. Then he shot me to death."

"He seems like a crazy person if he tried to shoot you to death." Florence looked at the ceiling.

"Yes. He is crazy and sometimes unpredictable." Freyah chuckled.

"Then do you want to meet him again?" Florence asked.

"Not really but I want him to live along with the person he truly love." Freyah looked faraway. "You better sleep now this time, your highness. I’ll try to see if I can have a short nap." Freyah crossed her arms and laid down in the sofa. She closed her eyes.

"You should be the one sleeping in the bed."

"I’ll be fine." Freyah retorted. "Even if we switch, I’ll carry you back to the bed all over again."

"Right. I can’t really win from you, Milady."

"Of course," Freyah grinned.

’The moment I’ll lose, means someone to me got hurt or die. That is why I can’t lose.’

An hour had passed... And as expected Freyah couldn’t sleep at all. But she could hear the soft snores of Florence. She just remained laid on the sofa. Her mind was filled with a lot of thoughts. The past mixing with the current plans she laid down for the future.

’Master... Of course... It was a love that would remain unrequited. But as I live alone for the longest time, I don’t even know if those love still remained... Or it got faded along with time now.’

Freyah heard a noise outside from the Hut. She immediately stood up and open the door to check if someone was outside. But there was no one in there.

Then closely, she immediately jumped up the roof. Her eyes squinted and laugh. Even if they were hiding behind a tree, Freyah could still see someone with the status on.

’Interesting...’ Then they disappeared after a few seconds, sensing that Freya was looking at them.
