The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 652 - 693: Little Thief Ah Rang
Shade Jervois really put away the gun, walked to Adrian Desmond’s side, hugged the wooden bucket of mixed rice in his arms, and said, "This is mine!"
"If you dare make trouble, you’ll never get to eat such delicious bucket rice again in your life."
This was the food Pauline Briggs had packed for him to take home. Shade Jervois was already full. He touched his stomach, glanced at Adrian Desmond, and sat back down in his original seat, continuing to eat.
It’s true that food is only your own when it’s in your stomach.
"It’s all right, everyone, continue eating," Adrian Desmond said.
Everyone was startled, and this breakfast was destined to be indigestible.
Samara was scared and dared not continue to eat at the same table with this man. She told everyone that she wanted to go back to her room to do her homework.
Shade Jervois, without lifting his head, said, "You haven’t taken the gem necklace yet."
"I don’t want it!" Samara’s face turned red.
"If you don’t want it, I’ll marry you," Shade Jervois said seriously, looking at the blushing Samara.
"I won’t marry!"
"If you don’t marry, I’ll kill you!"
Samara looked at Adrian Desmond, asking for help, "Brother-in-law..."
"It’s all right, you go back to your room first."
Samara felt like she had received a pardon, quickly lifted her skirt, and ran upstairs, not caring about her ladylike image.
"Shade, Samara hasn’t grown up yet. She can’t get married until she’s grown up," Adrian Desmond said to Shade Jervois.
"How long will it take to grow up?"
"Ten years!"
Shade Jervois swallowed the mixed rice in his mouth and said expressionlessly, "Okay, I’ll wait for her for ten years!"
Adrian Desmond was speechless.
Under the table, Sienna Johnson fiercely kicked him. She was annoyed that his attempts to mediate were backfiring; the more he spoke, the more it seemed like he was arranging the marriage.
Adrian Desmond quickly tried to remedy the situation, "Marriage requires mutual affection. It’s obvious that you don’t like her now, and she doesn’t like you."
The tongue-twister-like words made Shade Jervois frown more tightly as he listened. "Ten years. I’ll come to marry her!"
Madam spoke, "In ten years, if Samara likes you, we won’t object." The implication was that if she didn’t like him, he couldn’t marry Samara.
Shade Jervois didn’t understand implications. He had decided to marry Samara because she could cook. He wanted to eat delicious food every day, so he wanted to marry a wife who would cook for him every day.
Shade Jervois didn’t dwell on the issue. Others also tactfully avoided it, and this dangerous topic came to an end.
Dylan was originally sitting next to Samara. At this moment, the gem necklace was in Dylan’s hands.
"Huh, isn’t this Grandma’s ruby necklace?" Dylan suddenly interjected.
Paige Desmond was stunned for a moment, touched her son’s head, and said, "Dylan, don’t talk nonsense. This is Mr. Jervois’s gem necklace. How did it become your grandma’s?"
"It’s Grandma’s ruby!"
"Rubies all look the same. How do you know it’s your grandma’s?" Paige Desmond tried to smooth things over, not letting her son speak recklessly. The implication in her son’s words was that Shade Jervois had stolen the Queen’s necklace.
"Really, it is Grandma’s. I’m very sure."
Paige Desmond said fiercely, "What’s wrong with you today? I told you not to talk nonsense, so why are you still talking nonsense?"
Dylan felt wronged and whispered, "I didn’t talk nonsense."
"Dylan, don’t be sad, I believe you." Curly, sitting next to Dylan, hugged him. She then looked at Shade Jervois and asked, "Brother, where did you get your necklace? Did you steal it when you went to the Imperial Palace to steal chocolate last time?"
"Curly, how can you be so rude? How can you say that Shade Jervois stole something?" Sienna Johnson said.
"Brother really went to the Imperial Palace to steal chocolate. I even asked him to write a self-reflection. But I don’t know what he wrote. I can’t read."
"What have you done?" Sienna Johnson looked at Curly, feeling a headache coming on.
Curly said, "When I did something wrong before, didn’t Mom ask me to write a self-reflection? Shouldn’t I write one when I do something wrong? So can I not write one if I cause trouble again in the future?"
"You dare to make trouble again?" Sienna Johnson stared at her daughter sternly. Curly stuck out her tongue and quieted down.
The father and daughter exchanged a look, as if sharing many little secrets. Sienna Johnson saw their exchange and knew what they were thinking. As a father, Adrian Desmond doted on his daughter.
If Sienna Johnson hadn’t known Curly was Adrian Desmond’s biological daughter, she might have imagined a melodramatic plot. In such stories, a stepmother’s excessive and unconditional doting on a stepchild could not only win her a good reputation but also end up spoiling the stepchild rotten.
"This is what I got from the Imperial Palace. Is your grandma that fierce old lady?"
How could Shade Jervois call someone as noble as the Queen an "old lady"?
"Mom, you see, I didn’t speak wrong. The necklace was stolen by Brother."
Everyone didn’t know what to say.
Madam looked at Shade Jervois lovingly and patiently taught him, step by step, "Shade, stealing is wrong. If you want a diamond necklace, you can ask Grandma for one, but you can’t steal it. Grandma has another one. If you like, I’ll ask Kathryn to get it for you later. But this one, you have to give it back to Dylan. This is Dylan’s grandma’s."
"My brother said that once something is in my hands, it’s mine!"
"Your brother is wrong!" Curly retorted.
"My brother is always right!"
"Humph! If you think your brother is right, don’t come to our house anymore. We don’t make friends with thieves!" Curly said.
Shade Jervois was reluctant to give up the delicious food here and compromised, "Alright, then I’ll give you the ruby."
Shade Jervois didn’t say anything more and continued to eat sullenly. He had plenty of these Georges and didn’t much care for them.
Paige Desmond looked at her brother with some difficulty. She didn’t intend to return to the Imperial Palace, so it was impossible for her to return the gem necklace.
"Since Shade took it, let him return it himself." Adrian Desmond took the gem necklace from Dylan’s hand and threw it to Shade Jervois. He didn’t care whether Shade returned it or not.
"I’m done eating." Shade Jervois pushed the empty wooden bucket towards Pauline Briggs.
Pauline Briggs was startled. "Uh, okay, you have a great appetite."
"I want another bucket!"
This time, even Madam, who had praised Shade Jervois for his hearty appetite, couldn’t remain calm.
"Child, it’s not that we’re unwilling to give you more food, but you eat too much. Next time you come, let Auntie Briggs make it for you, alright?" Madam coaxed.
"I’ll take it home to eat!"
He really wasn’t polite at all. After eating so much of their food, he still wanted to take some home.
Pauline Briggs had a good impression of Shade Jervois and said, "Okay, I’ll make it for you. But it won’t taste as good if it’s leftover."
"It’s okay!"
Pauline Briggs looked at Shade Jervois with affection and actually went to the kitchen to make another wooden bucket of mixed rice for him.
