The Bigshot Married Himself to the Heiress-Chapter 653 - 694: Interrupting Good Things
After sending Shade Jervois away, Sienna Johnson sighed with relief.
"Tell me, what’s really going on with that Shade Jervois?"
Sienna began questioning Adrian Desmond about the man who looked exactly like Night Owl.
Shade Jervois’s behavior worried Sienna so much that she momentarily forgot about the bird’s nests and immediately called Adrian Desmond aside to ask about him.
In front of their bedroom’s floor-to-ceiling window, Adrian Desmond sat on a rattan chair, his long legs resting on the glass table as he gazed at the ocean.
"Come sit here." Adrian Desmond patted his lap.
"I’m so heavy now, aren’t you afraid I’ll crush your legs?"
"That little bit of weight?" Adrian Desmond scoffed, easily pulling her onto his lap.
"Tell me quickly, what’s the deal with Shade Jervois?"
"He’s Night Owl’s twin brother. Because he looked identical to Night Owl, a doctor injected him with a drug when he was young, permanently stunting his intelligence at the level of a five-year-old."
"Shade..." Adrian Desmond paused, his gaze lost on the ocean outside. "He has many flaws," he said softly, "but he’s not inherently bad. He even saved my life once."
"Was that doctor an enemy? Why did he inject Shade with a drug to leave him with the intelligence of a five-year-old?"
"No, the doctor was one of Shade’s father’s subordinates. He was injected because his father worried the two brothers would fight over the inheritance, thereby harming the Jervois family’s interests. So, his father came up with what he considered a compromise."
Sienna never imagined there could be such a ruthless father in the world. "And for that reason, he ruined one of his sons?"
"The original plan was to kill him. At least he’s still alive, isn’t he?"
"What are you saying? Are you suggesting we should be grateful to that cruel father?"
"If there’s anyone to be grateful to, it’s Shade’s mother. If she hadn’t desperately protected him back then, Shade would have died long ago."
Sienna didn’t know what words to describe her feelings. "How can there be someone in the world even more outrageous than my own mother?"
Initially, Sienna had sensed danger from Shade and didn’t want him to associate with them. But now, knowing his story, she felt deep sympathy for him.
That man, with the intellect of a five-year-old... he wasn’t inherently bad, but his values were severely warped.
Considering the kind of father he had, and such a cruel older brother, it wasn’t surprising that Shade Jervois turned out so twisted.
"Is Night Owl aware that Shade is interacting with us?"
"I’m not sure about that."
"Aren’t you afraid Night Owl will use Shade against us?"
Adrian Desmond laughed. "Sending Shade to deal with us is better than him sending someone with normal intelligence, isn’t it?"
"You mean..." Sienna understood.
"I can still manage Shade."
Sienna felt relieved. "That’s good."
With Shade’s issue resolved, Sienna’s attention shifted back to her Swallow Island.
"I’ve already bought the factory. When will you find people to help me harvest the bird’s nests on the island?"
Knowing her impetuous nature, Adrian Desmond didn’t dare delay.
"Tomorrow!"
"How many people?"
"A thousand!"
Sienna was startled. "That many?"
"To get it done in one day. Do you want to hire just a few people and plan on harvesting for a whole year?"
It seemed Adrian Desmond was even more eager than she was. Sienna smiled gratefully at him. "Thank you, Sixth Master. I’ll give you a ’treat’ tonight."
Adrian Desmond looked down at her belly and asked, "We still have four and a half months to go. I suppose I can endure it."
"Alright." She touched her belly. "There’s one more thing I need to tell you, Sixth Master," she said before he could leave. "If it’s a natural birth, I’ll need a month for postpartum confinement. After that, we’ll have to wait about two more months before we can... be intimate. If it’s a C-section, it’ll be longer, probably three to four months..."
Adrian Desmond mentally calculated. "So, even after you give birth, we still have to wait?"
"Giving birth takes a huge toll on a woman’s body, and I need to recuperate. If I don’t take care of myself properly, complications might arise, and I’ll suffer when I’m older."
Adrian Desmond thought for a moment and said, "There’s no time like the present. Let’s do it now." He couldn’t stand the thought of waiting that long; it would be torture.
"What are you thinking?"
"Still playing innocent? As if you don’t know what I want."
"Tonight!" she whispered.
"Now. Otherwise, you can go pick those bird’s nests yourself."
"You scoundrel!"
"I’ve heard that ’a man who isn’t bad, a woman doesn’t love.’ Don’t you like me being this ’bad man’?"
Sienna deliberately shifted her weight, pressing down hard on a certain part of his anatomy, making him gasp in pain.
"I’ll make you pay for that!"
"Have mercy, Sixth Master!"
She cooperated with him completely. Her body, her voice... everything about her was designed to please him. He adored her passionate responses, her eager abandon.
"Sienna, cry out louder. I want to hear you."
Sweat dripped onto her skin. Sienna slowly opened her eyes, seeing the immense effort etched on his face as he held back.
The window wasn’t closed, and the sea breeze drifted in, carrying a hint of summer coolness. In this globally scorching summer, Unnamed Island was indeed a perfect refuge from the heat.
"Don’t stop, hurry..."
He lowered his head and whispered in her ear, "Will you let me have my fill tonight?"
"Yes!"
"And will you let me eat until I’m completely satisfied?"
"Yes!"
"Good girl..."
Adrian Desmond moved with unrestrained passion, plowing and sowing his seed. He lowered his head, his heart pounding fiercely. Finally, she could take all of him.
Outside the room, Pauline Briggs was accompanying Madam. They both heard the commotion from within, and once Pauline clearly discerned what the sounds were, her face flushed with embarrassment.
Just by listening, she knew what the people inside were doing.
Seeing Madam’s displeased expression, Pauline said, "Sienna is usually so composed and sensible. Why is she always so muddled when it comes to matters like this?"
Madam walked over and knocked firmly on the door. "Sienna, it’s Grandma. Come out, I need to talk to you."
Inside, the two of them froze mid-action. They exchanged pained glances; both were at the height of their passion.
"We’re done for. Grandma must have found out," Sienna whispered.
"Tell her you’re busy!" Adrian Desmond refused to let her go.
"Let’s wait until tonight. My grandmother must need me for something important."
"What I’m doing right now is more important!" Adrian Desmond retorted, his temper flaring.
"But Grandma is waiting right outside," Sienna pleaded, on the verge of tears.
Adrian Desmond remained silent, frustrated.
"Adrian Desmond, get up, quickly! How am I supposed to face anyone after this?"
"We’re legally married. It’s not like you’re having an affair with someone. What’s there to be ashamed of?"
"Sienna, I’ll wait for you in the conservatory!"
"I understand, Grandma. I’ll be right there," Sienna replied, her breathing still uneven.
